My money's on new character, with powers that come from the abandoned Chitauri tech.

How has this not been posted yet?

I'm not going to say who he's playing but he's certainly cranky. He's great, he came in to guest star and he tears it up. He's got that kind of energy, he's so much fun and a lovely guy, it's always nice when you get to see your old friends again.
I thought Joss said no to Cage AND Rage?
I don't remember Sam. lol I wish I could tho, I should have grabbed that article/videoJoss (or was it Feige?) was definitive in denying JAR was Luke Cage. This EW article is the first time he was asked directly about Rage; the "he's certainly cranky" sounds like a classic "cannot confirm nor deny" dodge.
I'd say Rage's hat is still definitely in the ring.
Mvp?

*Crumples up paper on which 'JAR-Rage Theory' and miscellaneous other gibberish was scrawled*I thought only Cage was shot down.
If that's the case, I'm still thinking Rage. Just re-watched trailer for the umpteenth time. Didn't his response to Skye when they were talking about SHIELD seem a *tad* childish/immature? The mannerisms would be in line with him actually being a 13 year old inside.
JAR gave a video interview; still doesn't hint at who he's playing, of course. But he *does* reiterate the earlier comment that Marvel doesn't always cast characters according to their original race in the comics. Which means that (a) he *is* playing someone from the comics, and (b) it's looking more and more likely that it wasn't originally a black character.
How about Parker Robbins...The Hood? He's a new villain they've been flogging this century, and I don't know much about him; other than the fact that I've "run into him" on Marvel Heroes and Marvel Avengers Alliance, and that, other than being white, he *could* fit the bill of JAR's character.
