I believe so, possibly before/during.

I just remember the domain being registered was when we knew they were even considering doing a "First Class" film.

When Singer announced it on the red carpet, that was a long while later.

Gotcha, that makes sense cause I think before Singer was hired they announced Zack Penn was writing it around the time of XMOW.

After the Last Stand Zack Penn was suspose to write a spinoff on younger characters.
This was scapped for First Class. The producer Of Chuck,The OC,and Gossip Girl was hired
In early 2008 to write a script that has been called the twillight/John Hughes version of
X-men.This was completly thrown out when Fox went to Singer In 2009 after Wolverine came out.

Wow that would have sucked!!Was that script actually called First Class?

Eh, Josh Schwartz is a solid writer, and it would have had Scott, Jean and Storm in it. With the right director it could have been just as good as the First Class we did get.

It would, however, have been more like the First Class comic and original line-up, so fewer fanboy meltdowns...

Who knows how it would have turned out. But the studio felt it was just a teen version of what we already had.

Angel and Iceman would have been absent.Emma frost may have been there. The reason
they were trying at the time to Include a character that was suspose to be Emma In Wolverine was to setup First Class. It would have been more of a high school movie.

Some still would have said why are Storm and emma frost here but not Iceman and Angel.

When It comes to X-Men and fox some will always complain about changes but never say a word about other studios changes.I never hear a fraction of the complanets about other films that I do about X-Men.

I really just want too see James Marsden back as Cyclops... Perfect casting!! The original trilogy was very well cast though, it would be fun if a few faces could make cameos...

Would love to see Zoe Saldana as Storm!! But thats for another day... Check out this awesome Fan Art i Found on Deviantart by Wobblyone... Im Sure most would agree maybe First Class 2 and X-4 as One film won't seem like such a bad idea after looking at this pic!

So, since Kitty Pride probably can't be used, do you think they should go the XMTAS route and introduce Bishop? Or should they go the WATXM route and have Xavier communicate from the future?

It would be easier for it to be Xavier. Maybe the attempts to communicate across time at first manifest as nightmares and voices, and he needs a new Cerebro to amplify the signal.

Especially as Bishop's powers are just like the First Class Sebastian Shaw.

Of course, I dont know exactly what they intended but a Teeny bopper X Men Movie is the last thing I want to see brought to the franchise. Although the Wolverine and the X Men comic right now is one of the best X books at the moment and it has plenty of teen drama/comedy that work quite well. Def depends on the writer/director.

Very true, the idea of a teen twilight version (if thats what it was) of X Men would def turn alot of people off though. Im glad the focus was turned to Prof X and Mags. Good stuff there.

True, what I liked about WATXM was that they were still able to use Bishop in the future scenes. He was in the camp with Xavier and a few others. So, it's not necessary for him to be the ONE. And I feel like audiences will easier swallow two Xavier's communicating, then a man from the future time traveling.

Exactly. Having it be a telepathic communication is much better/easier than asking the audience to accept time travel.

They just have to work out how Xavier is suddenly able to communicate across time. It would need to be some future invention by Forge that attaches to Cerebro, or something like that. And what about explaining how he survived Phoenix? We know he did but there is a gap between that end scene of X3 and him suddenly communicating across time.

Any actors that don't want to reprise their roles for the future sequences (or who ask for too much cash!!!) will just be described as 'slain' so it won't a problem.

As fun as the 60's were, I would have much prefered First Class to feature Scott and Jean a good few years later.

I don't think much of that matters. Especially since it's an "alternate" timeline. The point would be that something unexpected happened, in the 60s or 70s (whenever FC2 is supposed to take place) that changes things.

I'd venture Fassbender's Magneto assassinates someone he wasn't supposed to.

This manip is amazing.

The more I look at it, the more I see Days of Future past as the perfect X4, instead of a First Class sequel.

I understand Fox and Singer love this saga, but why to do it so soon, when they can still explore the first class cast, and adding great new characters/actors?

Because FC was only a modest success, and this is a way for them to tell a story they love, using the big actors that the general audiences are used to, while still continuing the FC story.

Win/win.

Yeah flip flopping from Fc2 to X4 would seem odd to audiences I think. Audiences are gonna have FC fresh in their head as the new X Men. Not 10 years ago with X2.This is a good way fro Fox to continue the new and the old and probably the closet thing people will get to an X4.

and in case they do this for 2014, what do you see next?

A continuation with the First class cast, or keep using actors from both timelines?

that's a really interesting question definetly.

If I see Rogue, Kitty, Cyclops or Storm again on the theathres, I would LOVE to see them again on the next sequel....

but if they dont use them again anymore, it would be kind of unfair to the fans and general audience who loved the old cast, dont u think?

A DoFP storyline would likely span 2 films, so that gives them until 2016 the earliest before they have to come up with something else.

But, like WATXM, a this storyline could lead into Age of Apocalypse.

If they do bridge the films then they are finding a way to incorporate those characters and are actually giving fans want they want. This series cant go on forever. The fact they are considering this story line and the possibilityies of the original cast returning if at least for one film should leave fans happy. The storyline itself should span a few films. Would you prefer no orginal cast members coming back at all?

Good question.

It needs some careful choices.

The general audience is already used to Lawrence and Fassbender. They are amongst the hottest of the hot in Hollywood and their star power is doing nothing but growing. Mckellen's and Paquin's characters were depowered so they can't be involved. Marsden's and Stewart's characters are dead so they can't be involved. Halle Berry is a complete has been. So when you say "big actors" your really only referring to Jackman. Right?

This has the potential to be very awesome or fall under weight of it's ambition. Either way it's sounds very fresh and unique. It would be the perfect segue into X4 or FC3.

Magneto's powers were shown returning, so McKellen is fine.

Stewart's Xavier switched his consciousness into a braindead twin

Love her or hate her, Halle is a name (or just recast her with Iman). Same for Jackman.

(Anna Paquin is also pretty hot, thanks to True Blood, though she is pregnant at the moment. If Magneto's powers returned, hers could too. And if they didn't, she'd be useful to the X-Men in a Sentinel-run world because the Sentinels wouldn't be targeting her.)
