Days of Future Past Days of Future Past SPOILERS! (You have been warned!) - Part 3

Interviews from before the movie have said that essentially, the X-Men are no more and the non-captured mutants are scattered all over the world. It should be obvious that Iceman, Kitty, and Colossus became separated from the others at some point until they were able to contact them at the beginning of the film.

If it's supposed to be so "obvious" to me and many other people it seemed as if Bishop knew Storm... It didn't seem as if he just met her! And I know you going to say "they probably already met before" it was never confirmed or denied in the film. So with that being said, it was just a thought. And unlike some people I didn't read or look at everything that was released before the film. So next time you try and get me together. Know the facts! That will be all!

It did seem like he knew her. They didn't explain it though. We were just meant to see them all as scattered survivors.

I would like a Storm/Bishop romance, though no real time to develop that in a horrific dystopian future.

Hell, no better time if you ask me. If I knew I was gonna kick it rather soon, I'd prob be trying to have one last um..."romance". :D

Yeah IN THE FUTURE...but what if Emma was just presumed dead in 1973...but was in fact still alive. She would then still be a later...in the new timeline.

When did The White Queen (Emma) ever get the powers to change into a diamond?

Unless time travel is involved in Apocalypse again, which I hope not, yes, everything here on out is filling in the gaps between '73 and the corrected 2023 future Logan wakes up in. That doesn't mean Jean can't die and come back to life a few times in between. haha

Well, the 2023 future Logan wakes up in could be utopian mutant AoA for all we know.

Wait..Wha!!?? :wow: I thought he woke up in the current timeline.

Im excited to see the film tonight. I do wonder how anyone got ahold of emma to kill her... with her telepathy as well as her diamond form.

Maybe someday somehow they will find a way to bring her back.

She herself got captured in First Class. Having TP and diamond skin doesn't prevent that from happening.

I think this from that site (PM if y can't find the whole article):

The final moments of X-Men: Days of Future Past is a heartwarming, geek-out worthy sequence in which it is revealed that the X-Men timeline has been altered drastically and previously deceased characters, namely Cyclops and Jean Grey, have been brought back to life. When Vulture asked producer/screenwriter Simon Kinberg if the character rebirths were always planned, he responded: "I went back recently — like two days ago, because I've been in Baton Rouge and my brain's been in Fantastic Four — I put my brain back into Days of Future Past, and I looked at my original outline for the movie, which was dated exactly two years before we're premiering the movie: May 10th, 2012. The original outline, the first thing anyone read — the studio, the producers, anyone — it was something me and Matthew Vaughan worked on together. In that original outline, the characters that come back at the end of this movie came back. For me, the fun of this movie from when I said, 'We should do Days of Future Past,' was literally the scene of changing the future and Jean is going to come back and Jean and Wolverine are going to have a reunion. Mainly because I carry such guilt over X-Men: [The Last Stand]. The way we killed Jean in X3 haunts me because I love the Dark Phoenix saga so much."

Does he have any regrets about X-Men: The Last Stand? "It was a missed

opportunity," he replied. "That and Days of Future Past are my 2 favorite X-Men runs. So, I feel like what we did on 'Dark Phoenix' was not make it the 'Dark Phoenix' movie. We made 'The Cure' movie with 'Dark Phoenix' as a subplot. If I was going to do it now, and if we were doing it now because comic book movies are different, the darkness and the drama of that story would be differently supported." He then recalled killing off Cyclops, played by James Marsden, in X-Men: The Last Stand. "People love Cyclops in the comics. Jimmy does an admirable job. Not to make this about X3, but in X3 we did what we did with Cyclops partly because had a schedule nightmare. He was making, ironically, Superman with Bryan. We had a week with him and we needed to make a decision to integrate him into the film then lose him."

SECONDARY MUTATION!!
Why is that so incredibly hard to understand? It doesn't need to be explained.
Plus, It makes sence for her character to get those powers. And a nice way to include her more in the story as she was in Wolverines role in the comic.

Do you think its possible that Apocalypse is the villain for the past and present of the new timeline? I think the X-Men should fight against him in AoA but he somehow survives and then reappears on the present after Wolverine wakes up at the end of DOFP.

I brought this up in another thread, but I don't remember seeing her photo amongst the others so she may be thought to be dead but is actually still alive.

Just got back from seeing it. Banshee and emma arnt in the photos like the others are. But what magneto said on the plane to xavier made it clear he imo that he thinks/knows their dead since he mentioned them with angel and azazeal. However... I do find it odd singer would waste a chance of using either in the future by having them killed off.

I do like the idea of them popping up as horsemen though

Like someone said on the Emma thread, it's easier for her to make people think she's dead than for her to actually be killed by Trask. She's a high level telepath I think we could see her turn up again sometime, possibly in Apocalypse.

Some of my theories.. Since Wolverine was involved in the DC incident, Mystique mustve posed as Stryker get custody over Wolverine. She could've did that to save him because she found him attractive or maybe...

What if Mystique was infiltrating Trask at first? Maybe she was looking for information on mutants but things took a turn when she found out Trask killed Azazel and the others which detoured her plans and caused her to seek revenge. Since she let Trask go at the end perhaps she went back to locating mutants of interest and thought Wolverine was special enough to take the her employer.. Apocalypse! Or it could've been for information on Azazel and the others she promised to deliver a promising mutant. Seems plausible

Were Bobby and Kitty a couple in this movie? They never kissed or were affectionate but the way they looked at each other seemed to imply that they were close. I don't know what Singer actually intended for their relationship

In the original time line yes they were a couple. In the altered one it looks like Bobby stayed with Rogue.

One question about Xavier and his new body from X3. Does he having his powers in the new body mean that his 'twin brother' had the same mutation as him? Mutant powers are tied to the mutant X-gene, right? If Charles still retained his telepathic powers in the new body I assume his brother was a telepath as well?

Possibly. The way he looked at her in the opening scene made it seem to me that they could've been together, though it's never really confirmed.
