DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 10

Geoff Johns used to be gold. But ever since blackest night he's been hit or miss. Scott Snyder has pretty much been solid crap. Black Mirror was decent, but everything else has been groan inducing.

I agree that Geoff Johns' Green Lantern went down hill after Blackest Night. I think his Justice League took a while but he's finally catching steam. His Shazam story was astounding. Aquaman is the best comic on the stands right now.

As for Snyder... I love his Batman. I dropped Swamp Thing after around 9 issues or so due to finances, but I was enjoying that up to that point. Oh, and I LOVED Gates of Gotham (co-written with Kyle Higgins).

Johns is good, if not great. Snyder's work is not as great as some fan fiction I've read.

I think everything Snyder wrote on Batman from about #6 to #20 was crap. But he seems to be getting better, he's almost decent again.

While Johns lost momentum in GL, his run ended strong, JL might not have been great for the first year, but I think the character interaction made up for it (Barry and Hal are sorely missed by me). But I do admit Curse of Shazam was all kinds of awesome.

I just don't see the sense in not wanting them married. They hardly interact with the rest of the DCU anyway.

As for who could walk next I think Manapul could soon be up for grabs.
Well the simple fact of the matter is DC wants none of their heroes married. Which is why Superman and Lois have yet to show any romantic feelings towards one another since Perez run on Superman. I think once they put Lois and Clark back together then that's when that rule might change.

I'm really looking forward to when my store does a big back issue clearance sale so I can buy some of these Villains Month issues, but I'm sure as hell not paying full price for all of them. I MIGHT get all of the Batman and Robin ones just because that is the only DC book currently on my pull list (I had to drop almost every book due to finances a while back; only have B&R, Superior Spider-Man and Uncanny Avengers now).

As far as Batman & Robin goes, I think the Two Face issue is the only one relevant to that title.

Except DC is shipping Wondy and Supes pretty ****ing hard.

I do like the new 52 Justce League and Earth 2. I like that on Earth 2 Alan Scott is gay.

Not a good week for DC...

Fans of DC Comics must be starting to wonder if its many recent PR problems aren’t deliberate self-sabotage.

DC's latest art contest, featuring popular villain Harley Quinn, they're offering lucky artists the chance to begin their careers in the industry—if they can effectively draw a naked woman preparing to kill herself. This seems, at the very least, tone-deaf.

The contest comes on the eve of National Suicide Prevention Week, and many comics fans are outraged.

Rest of the story is here - http://www.dailydot.com/fandom/dc-comics-kill-naked-harley-quinn-contest/

Obviously the story is going to be about preventing Harley's suicide, therefore supporting suicide prevention week.

Stop being afraid of developing and having your characters age a little DC. It isn't the end of the world.

DC needs to squash this story ASAP and do some serious housecleaning.

Wow, this is the smallest my dc pull list has been in...I can't recall it being this small before lol. Green Lantern Corps, Wonder Woman, Flash (mostly for the art) and Aquaman (very close to getting dropped) are the only dcu books I'm currently reading. Threshold was on the list too but it's canceled. Also reading Astro City and The Wake from Vertigo.
