They didnt say they wont be sexy, they re just trying to make the suits more serious and not have ladies fight crime in bikinis.

From what I gather, everyone will be keeping their continuity for the most part, only with some small adjustments and alterations here and there. Basically allowing for origin retellings, de-aging of characters, or cutting some of the loopy stuff from the 90s or whatever that people have had to write around. More of a Zero Hour style continuity tidy-up than hitting the "restart" button for anyone.
Ya know, Hal needs this more than anyone. Just to erase that whole Parallax ramapage/died/years as the Spectre silliness from his history.

He is as of Brightest Day. There was like a wall of text in the book about how it wasnt in the past, but now it will be because ST needs a human soul to guide it. The whole point of BD was to hamfistedly introduce new characters and set them up for their books.
Like... the elementals were completely unnecessary but whatever.

Is anyone here a Justice Society fan? I figure people JSA readers have got to be feeling burned; with Superman apparently returning to his position as the world's first superhero, it sounds like Jay, Alan, and the old-school society are out.
That sucks pretty hard. I think Superman probably should be the first superhero; I just wish it didn't have to come at the expense of the golden age heroe's place in the timeline.
Another interesting note is that this probably places Batman as the new timeline's second superhero, which is cool. Re-establishing Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman as the forerunners of the superhero community is pretty sweet--but the (apparent) absence of the golden age heroes and their legacy sucks some of the history and life out of the DCU, in my opinion.
I am going to call it. These so called new readers will not provide long term growth. Why?
Because they have no personal connection to the characters. NOthing invested. They will leave within 2 years because following these stories will require effort, something they are lacking.
Proof? They are the ones crying that these stories/characters are inaccessible due to high numbering of current books and decades of continuity. Thats a cop out. There are more trades/omnibuses/etc out now that at any previous period in the medium. Plus the internet provides an excellent research tool. It comes down to laziness.
Further proof would be the inability and laziness of some posters to read long posts. They have appreviations for this. tl, dr
gimme a freaking break. They textin/instant gratification/self absorbed teens/20 somethings have no patience and are in for a world of hurt in the real world. I know, I have friends as managers in the business world, account managers, controllers, HR people etc... they keep telling me how the 20 somethings must be reprimanded/fired because of all these book facing/texting/twiiter at work! And these are 20 somethings with post secondary training!
Not arch nemesis quality i take it, tho yeah Shadow Thief and Gentleman Ghost are kinda "big" it was Hath-set who was the arch evil really, but he's gone now.

What bonus material do you mean? The stuff from the Absolute edition?
