I'm actually glad because ending the marriage should kill off the last emotional connection I had to these characters and I can be left with the pure enjoyment of laughing at DC's ****ty comics and the people who pay money to read them.

Like Marvel doesn't put out ****ty comics.

I will say one thing about ending the marriage-these guys can't write women to save their asses, nor can they write a married couple worth a crap so they might as well split them up so that's one less thing they can **** up.

Basically they can't get Kal and Lois' marriage right because they don't understand Superman one iota anyway and just try to write him as a bland, typical, villain-of-the-month (or considering the snails pace of padded TPB writing 5 months) character.

so much about that article is so misguided and frustrating. but this here is the most stupid and non-sensicle of the lot:

With "Superman" focusing on the early years and "Action Comics" focusing on a more developed Superman, could we not have both a single and a married Clark at the same time?

What they should have done is just wiped everything and put all the classic DC characters in a static world where nobody ages and there is no continuity. Just tell fun, easy to read stories that children can actually buy and understand. These characters have said all they can say.

Make new characters. Develop them, establish a continuity and have them age and retire them when they are done. Then repeat the cycle.

I liked the marriage

I thought that Rucka did a fine job of writing them as a married couple. So dud Simone and their were quite a few good stories in the 90's too.

I don't think retconning the marriage would ruin the character but i still dont like it

I personally wish that characters were in their own separate continuity and then have books where they are together in a separate continuity. That way the stories for each character have more significance and are not dwarfed by what other characters are doing and involved with.

I wish we were getting a DCU that was like Batman: Brave and the Bold and JLU. It'd have a loose continuity, be easy for kids to get into, easy to read and fun.

But instead we get the worst of the 90's. Wonder how many new readers will stick around for an even MORE confusing continuity than 1970.
