Here I was thinking that woman was Black Canary.

Honestly that's the best looking Reboot Supes I've seen yet....all the onther pics look HORRIBLE this one actually doesn't look horrible

So as Cyborg is now suddenly on the JLA i wonder if that means he was never a member of the Titans now

I am really hoping that the costumes in the actual comics look better than they do on the cover

I'm an optimist

Oh one of those :funny:

You people do a fantastic job of keeping us cynical folk entertained and I thank you for it.

;)

Just messing with you Mystirious.

That said, I am hoping the interior art will turn out better but I'm not holding my breath. This is all odd to me because this is really the only time that Jim Lee's art for DC has bugged me all that much. Hopefully though whoever inevitably takes over for the second arc will end up making them look better. We'll just have to see.

Tony Stark would like a word with these fellows.

I actually really like this roster. Sure it's redundant with Mera being on the team when Aquaman is there, and the Martian Manhunter not being there is a flat out crime, but with a roster that includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Barry Allen, Hal Jordan, Aquaman, Ray Palmer, Hawkman, Firestorm, and Oliver Queen, I'm not going to complain too much.

Except I would never use those Superman or Wonder Woman costumes on a film. Superman is the one costume that should NEVER be changed and Wonder Woman just doesn't look right in pants.

with Superman on the team everyone is redundant

I keep hearing people say that Superman's suit looks armored, but I assumed that was just a series of unnecessary grooves sewn into it.

I wonder what the internet would have done when the GL switched from a magic ring to and intergalactic police force ring....
...or when the all new all different X-men were introduced
...or Barry Allen first became Flash

Flash and GL I cannot say, but I was reading X-Men (which was a reprint book) and i had no issues with the New-X-Men, mostly because they didn't erase the originals to add in new members. I already knew Wolverine from the Hulk and thought he was sort of stupid, but the others I liked, Colossus and Thunderbird especially, as they reminded me of Legionnaires (and it turned out Storm, Nightcrawler and Colossus were originally proposed characters for the Legion title).

I never had a big issue with changes until COIE, because all the changes before were real-time changes, not retcons.

I would have less of an issue with Superman's new costume if his real one had existed at some point in this continuity, although it still sucks and it still undermines superheroes.

actually, the more I look at that new Superman pic, the more the costume grows on me.

True, I still don't know why it needs to be armored looking. And perhaps, the actual suit won't really be armored and that's just the seams or whatever............

but, I could really see such a costume being used for the MOS movie. it looks modern, updated, and "practical" while still being recognizable.

again, aside from the armor look, you look at that picture and you can instantly tell it's Superman. it's not some radical redesign of the suit.

That Superman suit looks...meh...Lee's version is the only version of the new outfit that dosent make me wanna barf.

Batman is meh as well. Why even change it? The current costume fits all the needs of a "kewl, modern" suit.....plus, it had the oval on it.

Wonder Woman looks bland and not like Wonder Woman

GL and Flash look overall fine, despite the crappy, yet minor alterations

Cyborg looks like garbage

Aquaman looks the best...he also happens to be the one they ****ed with the least.

Not really interested in the background characters. Except Green Arrow. He's awesome.

Overall, looks like a cheap Image Comics version of the LEague. Wouldve been nice to see Lee draw the league in their proper outfits.

I like the line up. I'm not surprised it looks decent Lee can draw....he just doesn't design so well sometimes. All in all I don't like the armored look on supes but I don't think it is armor either, however i'm glad the briefs are gone it was ridiculous. IMO

"this has all happened before and will happen again"

my wishlist for the reboot

- focus on Superman being Alien. People should have a xenophobia towards him. (a friendship between him and Hal can be formed)
- batman's mistrust of the league. (question his friendship to Superman as being strategy over anything else)
- wonder woman's ties to magic. (creating a love interest between her and batman due to their, at first, conflicting views)
- aquaman and other metahumans as an evolution to mankind (association to Flash etc)
- hal jordan and a greater understanding of the galaxy and universe (cause and effect to events such as speedsters and the destruction of krypton).

- focus on Superman being Alien. People should have a xenophobia towards him.

Why should people feel mistrust towards the world's 1st hero becausehe's an alien who is wanting to help?

- batman's mistrust of the league. (question his friendship to Superman as being strategy over anything else)

Batman isn't a untrusting inhuman being. :cmad:

- DC just announced that they are done writing for trades:

"Another change DC is making is that they won’t be ‘writing for the trade’ anymore. Writers have been told to write the story they want to write and not worry about the trade collecting. If they can tell a well-paced story in 4 issues, they’ve been told not to pad it to make it 6 issues. Editorial can worry about how it’s going to be collected. Going forward, books will be trade-collected depending on how the story fits. If a book has a 4-issue arc followed by a 3 issue arc, the trade will collect both. If it’s 2 4-issue arcs or 3 2-issue stories, those will get collected. As a side note, DC is looking into a new trade dress to represent the New 52 and a better spine design to call out information for fans."

- The Death of Superman is also still in continuity. So Superman continuity isn't being completely rebooted.

- Scott Snyder being moved onto Batman is being treated as a promotion for the writer based on the incremental growth Detective Comics was receiving.

- Dan DiDio thinks that Stephanie Brown works better as the Spoiler.

reboot. anything goes! lol. Just my wish-list.

it's interesting directions for each character. Superman trying to be Human but to a public that sees him as alien, making his triumphs that much more validated; and Batman alienating those that he sees as above human, giving cause for his ability to consider every angle in a situation.

Someone needs to tell DC that Batman: Black Mirror is missing the last issue of Hungry City arc. Glad to hear they're trying to improve their trade department, the Omnibus move was a good start, but they need to make prices like Image is, to GET people read it, not scare away.

Relaunch =/= Reboot.

Superman isn't being an alien or human by being a hero, he's being a good being which matters. He is a hero even in his human identity, helping out people withouth them knowing as Clark Kent. Batman doesn't need to feel alienated to see every possible situation, thats what being smart is, not a paranoid lunatic whos only prove is.... his madness. :(

That actually looks a helluva lot better than I anticipated. Especially Batman and Superman. Great re-designs, imo.

The story no longer matters. It is all about writing for the mainstream which will pick up reading comics and then drop them when something else comes along. Forget about the people who really read them. Oh well, I am sure in the long run this will really hurt DC.

Uhhh what?

Them not writing for trades anymore is one of the best things to happen through this whole relaunch.

How so? Yeah I see that it will make it easier for people to jump in to something, but overall it does not allow for good story telling. Stories like "Long Halloween" and "Killing Joke" wont be made anymore. I'm sorry but I have to diagree with you.

More like they are doing this to make the stories better. Writing for the trade that DC and Marvel have done lately hurt comics with unnecessary padding for a story that should have been cut an issue or two and cutting content from a story just so that they could fit in a standard trade paperback.

Add in the creators involved (Geoff Johns, Scott Snyder, Jeff Lemire, Grant Morrison, Gail Simone, Peter Tomasi, J.H. Williams III, Paul Cornell, Tony Bedard, Brian Azzarello, etc.), DC certainly doesn't care about the stories :whatever:

And I hate to tell you this, but staying the course with the comic book industry is going to kill it. Fewer and fewer people are buying comics and the mainstream is needed in order to get it to prosperity. It's the same thing with movies and video games. Just relying on the film snobs and hardcore gamers is going to kill the industry.
