DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 9

The only Grundy I like is butterfly overalls Grundy.

I'm really digging The Flash right now

But I really hope one of the Rogues kill that smug whiny dbag Dr Elias

Grodd needs to om nom nom on his brain :o

The relaunch bugs me quite a bit; DC invested a lot of time and energy into streamlining, revamping, and shaking things up with Infinite Crisis, 52, Final Crisis, Blackest Night, Batman Reborn/Incorporated, all the Green Lantern stuff, and then just revamped everything all over again and seemingly destroyed all the new stuff happening just to attrract new readers...which was exactly the same plan as all their other titles/events!

It's best not to think too much about the reboot

I just focus on the titles I'm enjoying from dc and try not to think about continuity or any of that stuff

I think it's just that DC has one of the best shared continuities in comics and these days, a whole year later, we STILL don't know what's going on with it.
I can understand why some are frustrated.

Well said, continuity is changing all the time, instead of trying to understand it i just want to read good stories.

Everything Batman and GL still happened.

Apart from one or two changes like Tim always being called Red Robin instead of Robin and Gordon and Sarah Essen not being married

Yep :)

And DC are publishing some fab stuff right now. I'm buying more titles from DC now than I was before the relaunch

Really the only things I miss about the old DCU are Renee Montoya and Secret Six

I wish they were still around in the new dcu

Demon Knights was pretty fab this week. I'm betting that
Even though they can't get to Avalon to retrieve Merlin now that Arthur has named Sir Ystin the 'once and future knight' of Camelot and said whereever he is Camelot will be he'll use that to allow Princess Alba and Princess Sarum to declare their city the new Camelot and be married :)

I can't believe Etrigan really betrayed the team though :wow:

Resurrection Man was neat as well I'm really curious how the cliffhanger revelation at the end of this issue will be resolved in the final issue next month

I can't wait to read Demon Knights and Frankenstein and Fairest after work (I read more from today's list but those are my 3 favs for this week's release). Also, today will be the first time my girlfriend goes to my comic shop with me, lol. She isn't a comic fan AT ALL, but she wants to try to better understand my obsession with the industry.

It's sexy, lol.

Get her to start buying Batwoman and Demon Knights

I hope you enjoy your comic books when you read them today sidekick :)

According to Bleeding Cool, Johns is leaving Aquaman and Andy Diggle is replacing Grant Morrison on Action Comics.

Diggle is very good.

I hope someone good replaces Johns.

I've never properly read Shadowland due to my dislike of event comics

Is it very bad? :csad:

Shadowland had a lot of potential, but Marvel editorial kinda ruined it.

When he has freedom from editorial like on 2000 A.D. (since he was an editor)or The Losers (since it was Karen Berger) he's readable but you know AC post-Morrison is probably going to be another excuse for Idelson to go H.A.M.

It also seems like an ill fitting match for Superman as a character. He's better with more street level wise ass characters like GA or Daredevil and hard hitting satirical ground level sci-fi. Not the more boisterous and adventurous sci-fi an epic character like Superman requires. Then again Milligan seems to be saving Stormwatch from absolute mediocrity. So maybe a writer outside of his regular element could fit. I still think they should've just gone with Sholly Fisch though.

Wait. Milkigan's Stormwatch is actually good?
