The Dark Knight "Dent, Damnit!", Dent casting "may not be considered conventional"

*sigh* at this point, I just wish they'd announce who it is and stop messing around...some of the suggestions are making me feel slightly murderous (the next person to say the words Tom and Cruise, consider yourself warned.)

Hmm... This is going to sound strange, but I'm actually thinking Don Cheadle.

Good Call Master Bruce. Cheadle is one of the most repected actors in hollywood right now and one of my favorites also.

Just get it over with and tell us that Tom Hanks is playing Harvey Dent...

I'm starting to think unconvential could mean "not known for this genre", such as a comedian. I was originally thinking older when I heard the news(Pacino, DeNiro). Trying to think of A list comedians
steve carrel
Jack Black(god I hope not)
Jim carrey(same as above)
Will Ferrell
Jaime Foxx
Vince Vaughn(I could dig it)
Luke,Owen wilson(God no)
Adam Sandler

Boy, I'm really reaching with this comedian theory :)

Actually, a comedian might not be too far off. Tim Burton once said, (in the casting of Keaton) was that he couldn't put a serious actor in the batsuit w/o getting in-advertant laughs. The saying goes "if you can do comedy, you can do anything."

Maybe we'll have a comedian have a breakout role with his first serious performance. I could see it happeneing.

Yes???

High and unconventional and not previously rumored...

I won't bother starting with the way old rumors of who had the role but here is my two cents...

Pheonix OUT
Jackman OUT
Cusack OUT
Hawke OUT
Owen OUT
Sutherland OUT
Gyllenhal OUT

Law Unlikely
Lewis Unlikely

DENZEL MAYBE
Dicaprio MAYBE
Norton MAYBE

EVery name has been mentioned thus far so I don't see how we can get a curveball any longer...

Why not throw in Terence Howard as well? Great actor and definitely on the rise.

The Departed got me on a Scorcese kick these past two weeks and among others I watched the Aviator and Gangs of New York. I'd be perfectly fine with DiCaprio...but why not go the extra bit and suggest Daniel Day Lewis?

Because there's no chance in hell DDL would do it.

WB can't possibly bring in a Denzel a dicaprio... there is just too much money invested there... I think they might go with a pricy veteran (solid safe pick) that isn't Denzel or a young stud on the rise that we don't know much about of they can't get that big name...plus Dicaprio has got some major projects coming up so he is all but out... I never thought I'd say it but Denzel is actually in this thing if WB wants to spend big...

DV8 brings up a good one with Pacino. I always thought he would've owned the part when he was younger. That being said, casting him nowadays is a bit TOO unconventional.

Denzel is definitely a possibility. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he were to get it. That being said, I have a gut feeling DiCaprio is going to get it. I've been campaigning for him to be Black Mask for quite some time, but I'd be thrilled if he got Dent.

Maybe its Jonathan Rys Meyers or Josh Harnett. Heard Jude Law,Ryan Phillippe and Paul Walker's career is on the pits so maybe these guys could use some career booster.

Jude Law will always be in demand as a good character actor. I see him having a 'Christopher Walken type' career.

I loathe Phillippe, but he was just in Flags of Our Fathers. He was in Crash last year as well, the Academy Award winner for Best Picture.

Paul Walker seems like a decent guy, but he should be modeling or something, anything but acting.

Leo will never do a superhero movie. He thinks he's too good for them. :whatever:

And who cares really? He can't open a movie anyway. He's a one hit wonder.

People went to see The Departed for the ensemble...or for Nicholson.

Opinions. His acting in Gangs and Aviator was solid.
