The Dark Knight "Dent, Damnit!", Dent casting "may not be considered conventional"

Yeah but the thing is most of the GA who know 2 face is the Joel one with Tommy lee jones and to make 2 face black now will like lose people if you know what i mean. ^ Oh yeah and wasn't daredevil crap? I rest my case.

They're likely to be just as lost when they notice Batman isn't sporting nipples on his costume.

Besides. That didn't hurt Batman Forever even though B89 already had a black Harvey Dent.

I'd take a high-powered rifle up a belltower and start shooting if Reeves got the part of dent, ledger was about all the "wacky" casting I can handle from Nolan

Yeah but he wasn't 2 face yet so he wasn't really recognized by the GA. The villain is alot more recognized.

Wha- one actor for Dent and another for his future alter-ego? And Joker's wearing a mask!?

What the hell are you talking about?

Listen, 'Splodey, if the GA is dumb enough to be confused by a change in skin color, then pandering to them would be the worst thing in all the world. Can't afford to let stupid people ruin things for the rest of us.

Well, considering Dent won't be Two-Face in TDK, most likely... That won't be a problem anyway. Denzel Washington is one of the biggest names in acting; That's why people will go to watch him as Harvey Dent, if he's cast.

When he eventually becomes Two-Face in Batman 3, they won't be confused because Harvey will have already been introduced and established in TDK.

I'd be hard pressed to call the Director's Cut crap.

Besides, even if it WAS crap, that would have nothing to do with Michael Clarke Duncan's performance as Wilson Fisk. MCD was the only man you could *possibly* cast for Kingpin. Nobody else has that larger-than-life, physically impressive presence. The man is a giant, and a solid actor to boot.

I don't know why anyone bothers conversing with Explode7; pretty much every post he has ever made has been stupid. Frankly, I believe he's either intentionally trying to annoy (because I find it hard to believe anyone could be so dumb) or he's perhaps seven years old.

Denzel is a fine actor but i think he's clearly too old. There is something that doesn't sit with me. I'd prefer Dent to be a young, charming, good-looking upcoming DA. I like the fact that Nolan is casting young.

I mean, i thought Murphy was way too young but it worked.

Imagine Bale and Oldman opposite Joaquin Phoenix. Denzel would overshadow the film imo....he's too big. Also, Phoenix is young and extremley handsome, and for me i always liked that perhaps Dent was abit vain and when he becomes deformed it is good to see a contrast.

Agreed on all points.

Than how about Jamie Foxx? He's young and handsome.

My only problem with Foxx is Tojo's other problem with Washington... He's a bit too A-list.

What the hell is this suddenley gotta cast a black man as Dent. You seem to be testing me about whether i'd accept a black guy.

Yes, Foxx is young and handsome, but no, he is not more suitable than Phoenix. I don't particularly think characters have to resemble their comic counterparts, but Phoenix has a darkness, a mysteriousness about him that neither Foxx nor Denzel have imo.

While we're at it Keyser, how about Will Smith? He's young, black and handsome! Or how about Taye Diggs? Young and handsome. Hell what about Gael Bernal Garcia, another young and handsome actor.

Yeah Denzel is so famous, something is just not right about it

He could give a fine performance, but too old, too a-list, and would overshadow every other actor imo. It's a weird predicament.

Well, he certainly is high-profile. But again, if Jett is correct, they're "aiming high." That would imply top-shelf, A-list, wouldn't it?

The guy who started this thing with the Denzel manip really is mistaken... just b/c they are aiming high doesn't mean they are aiming Denzel high... and unconventional doesn't mean he's black... I can not see Foxx or WIll SMith or any of those guys (why dont we throw in LL Cool Jay)... its possible but it just doesn't seem to fit... I have no problems if they go with a veteran who is a bit older but when did unconventional mean black?

The black actor thing started because Jett posted and then deleted a thread stating 'Don't Think White' on the BOF forum.

If they go with a black actor, the only one that will accept is Denzel.

Anyone else will be a big, big mistake and will force me to reconsider how much in Nolan I trust.

There could be various reasons for deleting a thread titled that.

Why...he's not the only good black actor.

Oh, I'm not arguing with that - it's just that's where the theory it's not a white actor came from. ;)

Bring back Billy Dee why don't we...
