Dexter - Part 4

Hannah only seems slightly more likely than Deb. She is more of the poison and violent stabbing variety and the coincedence of it being her is too much.

I don't see how Hannah fits at all with it. just lame IMO... doesnt make any sense for her to be doing this. also makes no sense for her to be involved with Vogel in any way.

Well, Hannah's involvement might not be a bad idea. It would help explain her initial attraction to and flirtation with Dexter, which (aside from the killer on killer thing) kind of came out of nowhere. Her having some secret knowledge about who he is from the beginning might be interesting.

But I don't think it will go down like this. Likely Hannah will appear in just one episode in kind of a throwaway appearance.

Vengeance against Dexter, Dexter's lack of "empathy" towards her, learning a new "code" of killing from Vogel maybe....I hope Hannah has nothing to do with the Brain Surgeon thing, but there's more of a case that can be made for her than there is for Deb. No way Deb has anything to do with this.

We know Hannah is returning at some point, and this season opened with a foreboding show of the plant she gave Dexter. I just hope she doesn't pop in for no reason later on in the series.

i dont think theres any possibility its hannah or deb.

Shape, what you just said is what I fear... her popping up for no real reason except for some filler and closure...3 episode arc type crap.

I really dont want her to become the real big bad and have the BS just a 'skinner' type villain

Putting Hannah into all of this will be tricky. I, too, fear we'll have a Lewis situation where it seems built up at the end of one season, and then fizzles into nothing at all midway through the next. I would think they wouldn't do something like that for the final season.

It makes me wonder why they even bothered with all this Vogal stuff really. It almost seems certain that they're involved with each other in some form. And knowing Rampling, it's probably sexual :o

New guess.

I think Vogel is gonna realize that Dexter isn't actually a psychopath. She will start to help him stop killing, & the last person on Dexter's table will be Harry. Of course in his mind.

Then after Dexter has finally found peace. Deb will arrest him.

What do you all think?

I like it! But only because of the last bit about Deb lol

I could see it. He's already pretty much lost his monster persona really, basically said he didn't need to kill last season anyway.

I was thinking his monster persona will increase as this season goes on... looks like him and Deb will be losing their **** for a while this season, and the one that can 'find their way back' will be Deb... with Dex being full on BHB/ITK type... needs to be put down.

I do like the idea of the public thinking of dexter as a good thing, like a darker batman. so hes killed like 75-100 people but probably saved a lot more from those 75-100

I don't get that feeling from Dexter really. Nothing he's done this season indicates him going down that path. If anything, his extreme concern for Deb and the person she's becoming shows how soft he's become.

Dexter is becoming more violent, not less. He's losing control clearly and I don't see how this season will do a full 180 on that and have him become a normal, well-adjusted human being.

Everything from this series indicates a violent end for it, whether it's Dexter's, Deb's or someone else's.

He was losing control. He has calmed down since Vogel started talking to him.

I really think Vogel is going to send him on the right path. She understands his nature. She understands his mind set.

She can manipulate him, or she can help him. I am choosing right now to assume she doesn't have evil intentions.

For no other reason than, that it would be different. Every person Dexter has put his trust in has led him down the wrong path.

It would be nice if just this one last time. This person will lead him to salvation.

Yea it's obvious she's up to something. I just hope she isn't the Brain Surgeon. I refuse to call him/her the BS

I don't think Deb put him on the wrong path but he certainly put her on it.

Vogel is definitely manipulating him to behave differently but that doesn't mean he won't react negatively when he finds out her hidden motives. She wants something out of Dexter and I don't think it is redemption.

I also think Vogel is manipulating Dex that whole mommy scene at the end last week was creepy. I do however think Vogel is telling the truth about the Brain Surgeon and he's one of her ex-patients. Who the brain surgeon is I can't tell yet there are no new characters to draw a suspect pool from beside Vogel.

I think the key to Dexter's rebirth as I call it lies in the brain surgeon. I think this show might end with a part of Dexter's brain being removed. The part of his brain where the Dark Passengers resides.

Thats why I think Harry will end up on the table. Harry is Dexter's Dark Passenger.

I have always believed he was trained like a dog. He isn't a true Psychopath. In order for him to get passed it. He needs to destroy Harry.

I think the fact that we're all unsure whether Vogel will ultimately help or harm Dexter shows that she was a great character to introduce thematically for this final season, as this ultimate question surrounding this show is whether Dexter can ever escape his true nature or not, whether he will ultimately be seen as a monster or some sort of dark hero. And I think they're gonna milk that uncertainty all the way to the end.

Dex cares about Deb and that's something I think Vogel secretly doesn't like, I could see myself thinking that Vogel will kidnap Deb, hoping to make Dex kill Deb so that he'll be a true killer and that he doesn't care about anyone. I hope to god that the season won't unfold anywhere near that, sounds like a rehash of season 1. :funny:

The final scene of the series shows the piece of brain getting on a motorcycle and riding away, the last shot showing it speeding past a sign that says, "Welcome to Derry, Maine."

i hate the idea of Dexter killing a ghost to become normal and end the series like that.

and the Brain Surgeon needs a new name... ideas? lol
