I agree with this. Vogel knows exactly what she is doing and is getting Dex to clear her slate for her.Althought all is not yet clear, it seems Vogel is trying to get Dexter to get back to the Code by hunting down her former patients (who she knows some have turned out to be killers). If you think about it, while seeking out the BS, Dexter found the fitness cannibal who happened to meet the Code and wound up on his table. It really seems like Vogel is experimenting on Dexter for the sake of her book, maybe, and that she will obviously try to cause a rift between Dexter and Deb.
I don't like Season 8 Jaime.
Jealous and insecure.
yes me tooI am sad because I know that I won't be participating in this thread and have the show spoiled because I read some spoilers. I don't cable TV so I have to wait until the DVD comes out for season eight.
Man they've got to stop with the stupid VO, it's been infuriating for years now, Dex only gets a witty line now and then but most of the time it's used to spoon-feed the viewers in case they haven't catch up what's going on in the scene, I mean we got this "A cannibal...a consumer of human flesh" and "Of course he's heard of Vogel. She treated him. He's lying." (which was already established in the previous scene between Dex and Vogel) in the latest episode. Stop, please.
I don't know, man. I like it. It sets this apart from other shows, in that we almost always know what exactly our main character is thinking. Yes, sometimes the VO states the obvious, but if you think about it, it's almost like Dexter is always talking to himself in his head...trying to figure things out and sometimes justify his actions. This is especially true when he talks to Harry (another part of himself). Harry warns Dexter that someone can't be trusted, Dexter says he needs to find out the truth, etc. -- it's like a constant battle going on in his head.
What I like is that Dexter doesn't often express himself around others, since, ya know, he's a sociopath. While in the Miami Metro building, he's quiet and often alone in his tiny office. At crime scenes, he only offers up his "expert" opinion and little more, but his mind is always racing and we get to hear his (sometimes simple) thoughts, worries/concerns, and even aspirations.
