Dexter - Part 5

Breaking Bad is the priority. I just watched tonight's Dexter though. Some more annoying Harrison, other pointless scenes. Deb and Quinn, Masuka and his daughter. You already know.

Oh Dexter. By now you should know that not killing the person while you have them always backfires.

Haven't read any comments here yet but I'm part of the way through. Just had to come one here and say that the random squeezed in dialogue, when Dexter is selling his boat, about Hurricane Laura may be a contender for worst writing of the year. I actually wound it back to actually make sure about what I watched.

I'd also just wish they'd leave Dexter's development to progress naturally and for us to see rather than just every two minutes him saying "I'm not the old Dexter", "I've changed".

This storm is Dexter's version of The Dark Knight Rises autopilot.

It may as well have a sign come up every 10 minutes saying "Don't forget the storm guys"

Well just finished and the most nagging thing is that
I don't see how the writers expect us to believe that Dexter would leave a fully conscious Saxon with a set of knives for Deb to take in. He would have AT LEAST injected him to make sure Deb could just pick him up and drag him out!

And the show is still dull as heck, Elway being on the tail of Deb/Hannah should have been done episodes ago and it's hardly the biggest challenge Dexter has had to face.

And I enjoyed the first few eps of this season...

only thing i dont like is why the hell did Hannah not change her look Jesus Christ everyone knows what you look like your a famous serial killer

This writing team clearly just wants me to hate this show.

As I've said, Deb and Hanna are talking about salad and even Walt Jr. hasn't eaten breakfast this season.

I am almost afraid to watch this episode if it's got Project, of all people, saying something negative.

The sad part is that some of the Dexter/Saxon scenes are actually pretty good, particularly the one of them in Dexter's apartment. It's everything else that's boring.

no i actually enjoyed episode i am just talking about something that has bugged me since Hannah appeared

IGN has a good episode review up. Like always, there are frustrating decisions that they shouldn't be making, yet they do. But to me that's kind of always been the course of action for the show. You'd kind of wish they'd evolved from there, but it still works for me. I still feel the tension of knowing that they're emotionally compromised and their decisions are going to bite them in the ass. I really enjoyed the episode tonight despite all the little things, and I can't wait to see how it ends.

I can't believe this is the same show that had the brilliantly written season 1 and 4. It's like going from Arrested Development to Two and a Half Men.

Didn't most of the creative team (producers, head writer) leave after Season 4? Could explain the dip in quality.

I liked the episode not as good as Ray Donovan but still good. This season to me feels very little different than the previous. I just don't see a dramatic dip in quality with it. The show is serialized but there is little taken from one season to the next. Usually by the end of the season everything is wrapped up. Dexter has been very good about closing up loose ends.

Dunno, but that sounds plausible. I think the problem is that they keep reusing plot points/structure from previous seasons and not playing with those expectations in the best way. It's still enjoyable, and imo not bad, but it's very foreseeable for that reason. And you kind of wonder how much Dexter has truly learned. But in a way it's pretty fitting, he's still the stubborn person he always was, always wanting to do everything himself because that's the only way he feels secure about it. Despite his different viewpoints on life from where he used to be, he's still the same childlike person he always was.

I don't care to argue if its bad or not. Its jut not interesting to me at all or you could say boring. Most of this season I feel like I'm watching on autopilot. At this point I just want things to get so ridiculous to the point of hilarity just for it be fun to watch and not a slog.

Edit: RoboDoakes, please make it happen...yes I know it won't.

Man it sucks what this show has become like I can't even get threw the last two episodes. I'll definitely watch them before the finale but this show just needs to go but it's funny how I still kinda love it mostly because MCH and JC. Hey if this Finale turns out to suck at least some of us have BB to give us satisfying closure.

I haven't watched it yet but I came in here anyways the story has so disinterested me to spoilers. No one posted anything major so I'm assuming nothing major happened, or rather nothing unexpected that wasn't previously spoiled.
