Dexter - Part 5

Slick, dude. Just so you know, some of us Dexter viewers haven't been reading spoilers for the past several weeks. We're also not idiots and have the ability to understand context. So thanks.
Just what exactly do you mean? I didn't said what happens. As for the preview, blame Showtimes for putting what they did in the preview, not my fault.

Seriously, this whole spoiler thing is taken to extreme sometimes! We might as well blackout every single post.

Seriously, not a single thing he said in that post was spoiler-worthy. The **** are you talking.

Slick, dude. Nothing he said at all was a spoiler. At all haha. So good job flipping out over nothing.

Hurrican Laura... nice touch writers... Next storm will be Hurricane Joe Driskill

:lmao: !!! Me and Oberon Sexton have been calling him Gosling for a couple weeks now... bloody hilarious.

'Quick, without looking, can you tell us who this actor is?' :funny:

"At least Quinn finally broke up with Jamie, who by the way, we discover has received a job offer in Atlanta, because she’s just now finishing up school, which she managed to attend while taking care of Harrison for 18 hours a day."

:lmao:

Heh, there's a lot of funny quotes in there.

Meanwhile, they should just rename the Emmy Awards to honor the kid who plays Harrison. The way that kid just kept repeating “Owww, Owww” for two minutes was AMAZING. TOUR DE FORCE.

In a show full of dumb people with dumb motivations who do the dumbest thing imaginable, who could’ve predicted that Hannah — who is a fugitive wanted for murder — could be SO dumb as to take Harrison to the hospital. Why? Were his injuries life threatening? Did he need emergency surgery? Would he have died if he weren’t taken to the hospital immediately? Did he even break his arm?
No. He cut his chin. Hannah put her and Dexter’s ass at risk because Harrison hurt his chin.
PUT A F***ING BAND-AID ON IT, LADY.
:funny:

That article was amazing, dead on and hysterical hahaha. I'm so sad that one of my favorite shows has become a comedy.

He was so on the money. There were so many things, stupid things in this past episode that make even less sense the more you think about them. And I'm not even sure that all of them got covered in that article.

The guy made some points but two things...I actually like Crazy Eyes Gosling, and there'd have been no way to keep his reveal a surprise if they cast a known actor. The other is that obviously there had to be some sort of struggle between Saxon and Zach when Zach was being abducted from his apartment. He was killed in Saxon's killroom and then brought back to send a message to Dexter and Vogel. The alternative is that Saxon set up a kill room in Zach's apartment because there'd have been blood everywhere. But that's not Saxon's style. His ritual is to kill in that killroom. Just goes to show you how rage can blind you into thinking everything is a plot hole.

Did I flip out? Thought I was quite calm and collected. And "it's obvious what happens to Deb and the spoilers might be legit"...is still admitting something "happens to Deb" according to spoiler information. Now, I didn't read the spoilers he's referring to...and I'm not a licensed detective...but it's not too hard to imagine what he meant by "what happens to Deb". Pretty sure even a monkey with Down syndrome could figure out what he's referring to.

Therefore, I'd suggest some of you be a little more careful when discussing all the **** you already know. That's all. I'm aware that 95% of the people who post in this thread completely gave up on the show weeks ago and have been freely discussing spoilers, but it's not too hard for people like myself to figure out the context of what you're discussing when you don't properly use tags.

But who am I kidding, this thread went to **** weeks ago (much like the season itself). There's no discussion anymore. Can't say I've ever seen anything like it.

I think only myself and BatLobsterRises are the only ones hanging on and trying to remain un-spoiled for these last 2 episodes.

This is certainly new territory for me too regarding the lead up ending of a series or even just a regular season ending. Never before have I seen (or been part of) so many fans actively begin to hate a series they watched for years.

We all seem to agree though that the writers completely gave up on this season before we ever saw it. There's no other explanation for the mess they've made of it.

I don't think it's fair to say the writers gave up on this season and put no effort towards it. I'm sure they somehow think they're making compelling television this season. It's just that not everyone agrees, ESPECIALLY not people on the Hype. However, I have seen other people on the Internet (and spoken with some friends in real life) who don't hate it and are still invested. For instance, Entertainment Weekly posts recaps of episodes and in their comments sections, you can see that plenty of people are still digging it, discussing it, and unsure of what happens next.

In terms of this Dexter thread, though, we've seen a total shift that might be revolutionary for the Hype (or at least the Misc TV Series section). Originally, we were all like a bunch of little Dexter nerds, happily engaging in intellectual conversation about the show, gushing over its merits, eagerly anticipating its return, and being critical when we needed to be (*cough* Doomsday Killers *cough*). But now, it's like everyone has morphed into a bunch of jocks who openly mock Dexter. The whole thread is filled with jab after jab. Most of the die-hard fans here have "cheated" on the show by giving in to spoilers weeks before the show's end. Whenever ("if" ever) someone says something positive about this season, it's either shot down immediately or completely ignored. Whenever someone like myself questions why fans chose to read spoilers, or suggests people be more careful with posts, the response is like "Who cares, bro" "Go away" "You're crazy" "Breaking Bad's the best".

It's definitely weird in here, and as I'm sure most of you would agree, it's sad to have the show end on this note.

I don't know any spoilers for the final few episodes (I avoided the summary posted a few days ago) and I do find out that people actively search out such BIG ones. I mean even if the season has been crap surely of ALL the episodes you want secret it has to be the season finale.

The only thing I knew was that Saxon was the Brain Surgeon which pretty much anyone with a brain stem could figure out.

But here's the thing, people aren't just hating it for no reason. There's precendence behind it. Last season, for example, most of the people on this forum were praising season 7 and it was widely considered a major rebound from season 6. But now, evidently the quality has dropped especially for what should be considered as the final season. There's a reason people are disappointed.

I never said there wasn't a reason and have openly admitted my disappoint towards this season. I was just commenting on the tonal, depressing shift of this thread...although it seems plenty of people are still having fun here by ripping on the show.

This season has been so horrible that I will read spoilers. I'm still watching because I've been invested and watching all these years. But on Sundays it's what I DVR. Breaking Bad is a must watch over this.

I was being hyperbolic but it isn't just in this thread either that people have been hating this season. There is plenty of evidence that fans who were there from the beginning and those who joined later have found this season to be poor from all over the internet. I don't see many "wow that was a great episode" or "this is a great season" posts from much of anyone about Dexter though I admit I'm not scouring the internet looking either.

I've seen nothing but almost universal widespread disappointment for this season around the web.

Two episodes left - can they save it?

Can they save it in two episodes? Absolutely not. It's impossible. The entire season should have been Batista vs. Dexter. It's too late for that.

I've been watching the show since season three. I used to consider it my favorite. Unlike most people, I adored season five, so I think the show has 5 great seasons. Six is the ******* of Satan, and 7 is pretty decent. This final season has pretty much raped the reputation of this show. I'm just finishing it now because I owe it to the show, but jesus ****ing christ these writers need to be fired. They should feel terrible for coming up with such an abysmal season.

I've stayed away from spoilers up until yesterday, and if these spoilers turn out to be true, it's just going to get worse. Sad stuff.

Something can save the show.

I'm talking about Robo-Doakes.
