Horror Dexter - Part 6

Great episode this week and a really good job at balancing multiple storylines and characters without once making me think 'When are we gonna get back to Dexter?'

Also, that reveal...seems like what many of us have been guessing, but now we know. Won't spoil it.

This isn’t really a spoiler mostly speculation but I think the NHI Killer is a young Brain experimenting with his kill set.

Fantastic eighth episode. Did not expect
that cameo from a young Miguel, but then I forgot that he and LaGuerta had a thing
.

Been really enjoying Original Sin, I didn't expect the twist for the kid killer.

I hope we get a 2nd season, still a lot of time between this and actual season1 of Dexter.

Yeah, I'm liking it. The cast is spot on.:)

The little subplot with Debora, better be going somewhere.

Im surprised at how good it actually is. Esp after the sequel being so bland.

Finished Original Sin and am very pleased they didn't bobble the landing. I could easily watch another season of this. :)

It really manages to capture that tongue in cheek vibe I loved about the early seasons of the original show and the actors are mostly managing to capture their roles without feeling like either imitations or completely different characters.

Yup, it stuck the landing in a way that New Blood didn't. While it took awhile for Original Sin to fully grab me, this finale has me fully on board for seeing more of Dexter's early years, which I never thought I'd say when this show was first announced. At the same time, if this was all we got of Original Sin, I'd be happy. Episode 5 is still my favorite, but this finale is a close second.

This does raise my expectations for Dexter: Resurrection, so hopefully that show manages to also stick the landing in a way that New Blood didn't.

I will say this:
part of me wondered if the show did too much with Brian too soon. With him as a child, that's fine, and I'm glad he wasn't the central villain of a first season again. Not to mention Dexter isn't aware of him. But I couldn't help but think we'd have been fine with the childhood scenes plus the moment of Brian asking Dexter if he could sit at the table with him. However, all of the Brian stuff was compelling, and this finale cemented the fact that he got a raw deal with so many people rejecting him. He was sitting on a lot of rage, but unlike Dexter, he didn't have a code or system to channel that anger. So while I think we didn't need as much present-day Brian as we got, I am not upset because the execution was great.

I can definitely see this show continuing for another three or four years, if Showtime wanted it around for that long.

Finished "Original Sin:.. Overall i liked it, but...
i feel Patrick Gibson doesn't has the Charisma MCH had in the role. There were times i also felt Deb is a completely different character, though the fact she's a teenager here should make a little sense out of it, but still.
I didn't like the whole Spencer plot. It felt way too forced. What next - Tanya gonna be exposed as a mass murderer?
I did, mostly. enjoyed the look on Harry and Dexter's mom past, though we knew exactly, where it's going.
Bringing Brian in was my least favorite part of the season. I felt they brought him in just as a reflection and a duplication of the first seaon(among other things) of the original series. I really hope we're not going see him again in coming seasons of this series, if they're planning any.
I will say this - The show didn't look promising at the start, but it got better and better with every new episode.
BTW... I have a question - was it ever mentioned, during, the run of the original series Deb was a promising Vollyball player in her teens? I can't remember anything like it.

So I finally finished binging Original Sin and it definitely lived up to the hype IMO. I really enjoyed New Blood but I can see why people are enjoying this more because it really does feel like the OG series just with a different cast and an early 90's vibe which they really nailed btw.

This new cast was pretty great for the most part especially Christian Slater and Patrick Gibson who really held their own being in such iconic roles while also bringing something new to the table.

Like most people I was very skeptical when this was announced at first because I thought the last thing we needed was a Dexter prequel but man this ended up really winning me over by the end.

I'm definitely looking forward to more season of this show as well as Dexter: Resurrection.
