History has shown the 3rd film is superhero movie franchaises tends to be really disapointing overall.

Case in point;

Superman III with Richard Pryor

Batman Forever

Blade Trinity

X3

Did Spider-man III actually break this trend or was this film disapointing as well?

And it was only dissapointing in the sense that it didn't break this curse. I mean it wasn't TERRIBLE but it did have its pros and cons, therefore it passes.

I think X3 actually was part of a weird alternate universe curse

first two x-men movies sucked, third one was actually pretty decent

Nah the first 2 X-men were great and well received critically.

Ratner's attempted definately bombed in the reviews...and fan reactions.

I don't care how they were received critically, they were snoozefest which had nothing to do with the comics. THat's probably because of a hack director who had never actually read an x-men comic.

Ratner's movie was straight out of a comic book in a sense. Lots of actions, funny moments, colorful characters (instead of all that gay leather jesus freaking christ). He really did salvage what he could to put something together that actually resembled the x-men

If Cyclops and Xavier didn't die most people would admit X3 was better than X1.

At that point (when x3 came out) I was like F$$$ it! they can do whatever they want, they already screwed the franchise to hell with the first two anyway. But amazingly Ratner actually pulled things from comics with this movie and even if it wasn't like straight out of a single story, everything honestly seemed to fit in a comic book. Xavier transferring to another body.. perfect.

SPIDER-MAN 3 was a lot better than the other third installments and probably the best, but in terms of its place in the Spidey trilogy, I'd say it was actually the weakest installment.

again SEEN, thats how i felt. i dont know, the trailer with 300 was darker than i expected, and so was the last domestic trailer, and speakin of they did removed that scene , THE REFLECTION in the mirror.. sadness

Dont forget character development and a cohesive plot. If X3 had those, then it might've been better than X1.

Well, it looks like it's up to Chris Nolan now to break the curse. He seems to be the next one up. Hopefully he'll be able to make a good superhero trilogy, although it'll be a damn long time before it happens.

SM3 should have been 2 different movies. Very dissapointing.

I really thought SM3 would break the 3rd movie curse, but I dont think it did.

why on earth does every movie need character development? is that something people learn in a movies 101 class or something?

jesus WE know who the characters are so give me some good story/action, which they did
not a boresfest

I mean is it, godfather 3 bad? Batman forever bad? X-men 3 bad? Blade 3 bad??? TMNT3 Bad??? I mean How bad is it??!!!?!?! WHere Would spider-man 3 lie with them!!???!!?!?!?!

For the scale and expectations its right on par with the above

ditto

Yeh too bad they did so the movie became the Wolverine show guest starring the x-men. What BS.

Well Spidey couldn't get over the finish line. I hated the first movie anyway so even if this was better than 2, there'd be only two good spidey movies and one turd. Now there's only one good spidey movie and two turds.

after watching this movie, i'm going to have a mental breakdown
