I just hope they give her scenes to begin with. I know the numbers suggest different, but I really feel like Laurel wasn't featured enough in the back half of the season. They've definitely shot scenes for her, but they've also cut scenes with her, so I hope to see her get more of an arc that revolves around her growing and progressing.

The last few episodes of the season definitely had her on the outs for some reason. Excluding her from Roys departure, Thea's near death, barely anything to do with the finale, just didn't seem natural.

I have never had any problem with her. She has been one of my very favourite characters on the show since season 1.

Agreed. I also believe that the writers made a mistake in agreeing with the opinions of some in the fandom and saying that they mishandled Laurel's character during the first two seasons.

Katie Cassidy is a great actress and does a phenomenal job of stripping away all of Laurel's manufactured securities and showing just how damaged the character really is.

As far as the wig goes, it doesn't really serve the same function for Laurel that it did for Sara, as it's more of a tribute than a disguise, and therefore it's not likely to go away until Laurel realizes that she doesn't need to use it for that function any longer.

I hope she loses the wig too. Maybe they have Sara back in Arrow and we see her with her White Canary outfit without the wig so Laurel decides to not use it too. Yes, I want some development for her from herself but if it means no wig I don't care lol

Next step for her Canary is fine tuning the fighting style into a more martial arts based style.

I also want to see Laurel go undercover in some capacity uncovering illegal gambling maybe organized crime, prostitution, and illegal cage fighting. It would be a way to show how corrupt the city is and the police do nothing about it

I don't think I'd call her a "great actress." I still hate DA Laurel. And I hate the "arms-folded, one foot in front of the other with a scowl" she tries to make when she goes into tough Laurel mode.

She is good when she's being lighter and more crusading. I don't think she is convincing when acting "tough." She's much better at "vulnerable but confident."

I agree that the writers made a mistake trying to cater to the part of the fandom that attacked her. There was a line in season 2 where Felicity yelled at Oliver about Laurel and called Laurel "Saint Laurel" and came off really sarcastic. And that just seemed so mean-spirited, especially from Felicity because it felt like the writers were throwing Laurel under the bus to prop Felicity and it created this Felicity vs Laurel concept with the show. It felt so out of place.

The wig worked when Laurel's hair was darker, but it probably won't now. But I never really saw the logic of Sara wearing it either. Her hair was pretty blonde.
