🌎 Discussion: Civil Rights, Affirmative Action, Critical Race Theory, Systemic Inequality, and Racism - Part 4

World News
Or, you know, just a "not all accusations are legit" thing.

This is hardly the first MAGA-guys-harassed-me-racially story that's been pulled out of people's asses. The swastika on the dorm doors - made up. The woman on the train, fabrication.

Hate crimes happen. Totally. Laying criticism over this on anyone other than Jussie is foaming-at-the-mouth partisan bull**** though. If hate crimes are as big a problem as you want them to be, you don't need to go around faking them. The Trumpies aren't creating a narrative over this, it's just that your narrative's got another example of its problems.

I'm looking at this from my perspective living abroad, so we may have a different take on it. I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying.

Initially, this story got no attention at all in my country... I'm sure this was pretty big from the start in America, a black gay actor beaten up by Trump supporters, it's perfect for the left...

Only when the "twist" happened it became a big news story, especially for the right. (Over here in Europe) Nobody really cared before that, but now it seems this case in particular is being used as "proof" to counter every other alleged racist incident

It's on every channel now. He turned himself in. ****.

No talk about the self avowed white nationalist that was caught in the midst of planning a murder spree around here huh?

Near you or literally on this site?

ahhh. Shows how much coverage it actually got compared to this then.

Glad the police statement made a comment about political people who helped with this fiasco.

While back, Id commented on how Obama was did plenty to add to the climate of racial tension. That it was here well before Trump came along... which people here scoffed at.
But this is exactly how.. by rushing to judgement on commenting on things he had no business commenting on before the facts were in.

I am referring to the Coast Guard officer just areested.

You know how the people on this site operate. Real stories of racism that happen every day aren't news. It's better to defend Trump supporters so they can look like the rational ones.

Of course racial tension was here before Trump, no sane person has suggested otherwise. There has never been a time in this country without racial tension. But yes whoever scoffed at you suggesting that Obama "did plenty to add to the climate of racial tension" was right to do so. Name these "plenty of things that" he did. We can obviously do that with Trump.

Its no different when a non white person goes on a shooting spree & no one talks about it (Gary Martin very recently) it does not fit any narrative Liberals like. When a White Person does it mass hysteria but any skin color not White people brush it off

Getting a jump on things are we? How long have you been lurking?

It was scoffed at because it was a stupid thing to say. Obama didn't force all those tea partiers to cfeate racit effigies of him or create and spread memes across social media likening him and his wife to apes.

Obama didn't force Trump to literally base his political rise on a racist conspiracy and lie.

"Ooh but he talked about how it was stupid to arrest a Harvard professor in front of his own home."

Well... That was stupid. Incredibly ****ing stupid. And Obama STILL bent to the broflake whiners by inviting the arresting officer to the White House showing WAY more tolerance than his critics ever have or ever will.

"But Obama commented about Trayvon Martin!"

Yeah... Funny that... He showed sympathy for the death of an unarmed teenagee guilty of nothing killed by a piece of **** who was allowed to go free.

Sell this idea Obama instigated a wave of racist sentiment among those that opposed his presidency to the tourists. It's a disingenuous and pathetic dodge.

You have an incredibly faulty memory becaue from the D.C. sniper to the the Orlando night club shooting we see "non-white" criminals covered all the time so your opinion is laughable.

I'm gonna guess troll with you, but that Gary Martin thing was big news.

Are you planning on posting in the actual superhero portion of this site or did you just want to come into the racism thread to be a right wing voice?

Obama stoked tensions by being black. I know that was bad of him, to go around with such skin color and then admitting it was in fact his skin color. But he should have known better.

So while Trump supporters the past year have tried to commit more terrorism then anyone from a country on a banned list or risked their lives crossing the desert to get to the US, the real problem is still somehow brown folk. And it is amazing to see how many people who don't post in here regularly just show up the one time it is to their political benefit. We see you. We aren't blind.

It is literally abuser logic.

But this level of thinking is prevalent all over the Right with zero history or fact to base it on. It was even seen here with a mod or two. Not gonna name names but during the campaign a mod essentially stated that it's the fault of Trump's opposition that he got the support he did.

It's logic that I expect to come out of the mouth of my 8 year old niece.

"I'm not a racist but pointing out that Trump is using racist pandering and courting the White Nationalist vote is just going to make me want to vote for him more!"

If that is a person's thinking I'm sorry but on this issue you are a moron. It calls into question any other position you have because again, that's the thinking of an unserious mind with the mental capabilities of a child.
