I saw this photo on Reddit yesterday. Those are members of The New Black Panther Party which has been designated as a hate group by the SPLC.

So cops force themselves into the wrong house that they didn’t have a warrant for. The couple at home have a license to carry a gun. They think someone is breaking in during the middle of the night so shoot and defend themselves. The cops then return fire and shot 25 times.

Oh, and the person they were looking for was actually on the other side of time and had been arrested already.

And I HATE so much that we barely get to enjoy a brief respite of pseudo-justice for about two days before some new outrageous incident goes viral. Seriously, what will it take for America to accept we have a problem with our police?

And again, they are a reaction to racism. They might be a hate group but they were hardly the originators of it and I really don't care if a bunch of racists kill one another. There are more than enough white racist groups that a single black one isn't as big a problem right now compared to the bigger problem of all the white racists getting a pass.

Hate groups and especially those that endorse the actions of cop killers shouldn't get overlooked or even worse, praise based on their racial make-up. All the anti-gun rhetoric disregarded now because of who is holding the guns. Members of a hate group at that.

How are people who are paid to be in life and death situation allowed to be so ****ing incompetent? They murdered someone, because they are ****ing idiots.

The south in particular has decided that hate groups parading around with weapons is okay. I do think it is a stupid thing to do, as much as the various militia groups who fantasize about provoking violence. But, I am also a tad less concerned about how a city that apparently is fine with lynching feels.

A lot of the stuff I’ve looked up and watched seems to suggest that the training and “ethos” of police departments across the country has a lot of severe flaws; it’s not just the occasionally blatant de facto institutionalized racism, it’s overly aggressive, insular, and pseudo-militaristic de jure training they have.

When I was teaching my (one person, no curriculum except what I could find online) criminal justice class, it noted how the different philosophies of police work impact how different parts of the country see and act around the cops... and lead to me analyzing why there were some cases of de-escalation rather quietly standing out from what was otherwise an “overwhelming overreaction” status quo that made headlines.

John Oliver’s video about police violence showcases the kind of “us vs them” mentality that pops up way too often in police training courses, particularly regarding force and it’s “justified” application. Basically, there’s a lot of departments where you don’t need to come in wanting to be a cowboy with delusions of grandeur to do something like this - someone will try and train you to act like this.

Heck, there was an article I was reading where a combat military veteran, a Marine, in fact, who joined the police force was making some headway trying to talk down a suicidal man with a gun (trying to commit suicide by cop) using some of his experience from his service, only for other cops to show up, immediately shoot the man, then report the veteran/officer for failing to immediately put down the “threat.”

And then he got fired for not shooting immediately.

He wound up suing for wrongful termination.

The important thing to me about this is that I think it shows how even if there’s no real racism involved in a shooting incident, the training can still cause tragedy - racism is still *very much an issue,* and we’ve all seen the stats that prove that, but even just the training itself is part of the problem.

None of that has changed but reality is guns aren't going anywhere and racists aren't going anywhere any time soon. Black men getting killed repeatedly by racists for doing nothing sparks exactly this kind of reaction. They would not be there, they would not even exist if it was not for white racists like these two chuckle****s. But given the likelyhood of another shooting, it is probably going to be white racists against black racists. If they kill each other that is on them, no one else.

And who was praising them again? This whole situation is wrong but don't take my indifference to be acceptance. Guns have only made this worse and it will not get better with more guns despite what they are doing, which is showing they won't stand for another innocent black man being gunned down. However they aren't going away and there is nothing left to do but wait and see who causes the next massacre because not a damned thing matters right now.

Gun control is also not anti-gun rhetoric but you do consistently make such strawman arguments. Continue to twist the facts, defend the status quo and pretend this is not going to get worse.

If you "Like" someones post I take that as you giving approval of what that post is expressing. Indifference would be saying nothing. You say I'm defending the status quo but it's you who have shown approval to open carry of rifles in public spaces the last week.

These are members of a hate group, they don't get a pass for being right this time. To say that this group is only there because an innocent black man was killed is ignoring their history. They protested the shooting of Alton Sterling on numerous occasions and he was certainly not innocent. They are there for attention.
