🌎 Discussion: Civil Rights, Affirmative Action, Critical Race Theory, Systemic Inequality, and Racism - Part 4

World News
I’m kinda surprised neither CNN or FoxNews is talking about this. This just happened a few hours ago.

I had more confidence in a guilty verdict due to the ineptitude of the defense as opposed to the ineptitude of the prosecution in the Rittenhouse trial.
I had more confidence based on the facts of the cases. We have some serious problems in the legal system and some of them are based on the rules themselves. Having a jury of your "peers" is another and there are more, like, you know.....$$$$$$

CNN had the family and their lawyers speaking around 4pm or so. (Right about when I fell asleep 8n my chair, lol) I'm happy with the verdict myself. :) It was the one I was hoping for.

Considering the number of innocent people still convicted, I would say that making it easier is not a good thing.

Not complete slam dunks on all the killers, but still more than enough to keep them in prison for life.

Why is there 5 counts of murder and 2 assaults when only one person was attacked and murdered?

Think of Felony Murder as manslaughter while committing a felony. You aren't intending to kill someone, but someone dies while you are committing a felony. It can be a bit bull****, when used when someone dies and the plaintiff didn't actually kill them. So each of those Felony Murders are tied to the 2 aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment. Malice murder is pretty much just Georgia's all around murder charge, since they don't seem to have 1st or 2nd degree. So, only Travis McMichael getting hit with malice murder makes sense, as he was the only one who shot him. I would need to dig deeper to see which assault charge Roddy boy got out of.

A good helper article is here.

Here are the charges and verdicts in Ahmaud Arbery’s murder - The Boston Globe

Never forget, someone had to leak the video to even get an arrest. They wanted to bury this.

Then there's this. Tulsi's corpse was not available for comment.

I've been wrong about this sort of thing before, so I try to talk less and listen more on these issues.

Aloha and thank you as an American and soldier, it is come with great pride that I will switch parties. I feel the rot and corruption of the Democratic Party cannot be controlled and feel that our movement would better be used with our spiritual brothers and sisters in the Republican party. With your help we can destroy corruption and end these regime change wars!

OK. Her spiritual brothers and sisters believe the election was stolen and defend and embrace white supremacy. Check, Ms. Gabbard. Got it.

Aloha to you. You <fill in with noun that will get you probation>

I think killing in self-defense against the attempted rape of a teenage girl is more defensible than some hooligan going out of his way to find trouble somewhere he should not have been at all.

Let's see if Wisconsin can do the right thing this time.

Let's see if Gaetz, Boebert, Greene, etc author a bill to give said sex trafficker a Congressional Gold Medal.

Chrystul traveled to her abuser's residence, made him sit down, shot him in the head twice and burned his house down. My heart goes out to her, but this wasn't self-defense.

And folks... This is exactly what we must do in public with this ****. There's no dialing down the temperature we've passed that. They have to be confronted and they have to know we aren't going to allow them to turn the clock back.

He was abusing her and trying to sell her for sex. Just because he wasn't immediately in the process does not mean it wasn't self defense. And it's still a lot more defensible than Rittenhouse going and looking for trouble to cause.
