And you still haven't presented how MJ and his aunt would be in danger. Stark might use them to get to him, but he wouldn't hurt or arresst them.
Eitherway, he's too trusting to think Stark would do that anyway. He's still out of character. Especially because he not only unmasked himself but assissted the capekillers in fighting other heroes he once looked up to. The battle even lead to the death of one of the anti's.
Also,if he was anti-reg it would have lead to greater stories than this foolish unmasking business IMO. Spiderman helping the innocent despite what the law saids>Spiderman taking down heroes because the law saids so.
Stuck between what's lawful and morally right. The heroes don't want to register, even the ones who did go with it. Peter knows the registration is a bad thing, but it's become law and he has to do what's right by the law. Or else he's exactly what everyone always accused him of being all the time he's been Spider-Man, a wanted criminal.
I've given reasons for the danger of MJ and Aunt May. Even if he didn't unmask and went anti-registration they're still in danger. Villains, especially those who already know his secret, could have easy pickings. I mean, how could Spider-Man stop them if he's hiding? Who would be there to help them if all the heroes are out rounding up all the anti-registration people?
And even if he's anti-registration he's still battling heroes that he's looked up to regardless.
Greater stories? No offense, we're getting ten times better stories with him unmasked than if he kept the mask on. It'd still just be one big old same song and dance, except this time he's actually a wanted criminal instead of being misconcieved as a criminal.
And if you also read # 534 you could tell he didn't want to fight Cap. He knows that Tony is watching him through the suit. And in the recent issue of Sensational he's really questioning whether or not he did the right thing when it came to taking off the mask. It's all a big story, and one that's a hell of a lot more intriguing, and exciting than him keeping the mask on, going anti-registration, and having the Spider-Man books be nothing but another borefest.
