I don't know if any of you guys know, but Old Navy just got in a bunch of new classic Marvel shirts a few weeks ago. Including a Doc Ock shirt with some John Romita Sr. art on it; I know I love mine. There were some cool Kingpin and Green Goblin shirts there, too.

Marvel's just unveiled the puzzle they've been teasing the last few days in its entirety. There is one very interesting Ock tidbit on it that they were blurring out the past few days.

The top center, Ock's tentacles and a baby.

Wait, all this is teasers of stuff we can expect in 2010? Looks like a crazy year. Ugghhhhh, that horrible Iron Spider costume is in there. Nice to see The Lizard there. He's been out of the loop for ages.

But the big one, a baby in some kind of coccoon, with Ock's tentacles holding it, or probing it. That is creepy. What the heck does that mean? First thing that springs to mind is Ock is working on a way to cure himself. Could he be cloning himself a brand new body?

That makes sense, since they actually re-introduced Kaine and the Clone Saga. He could use Kaine as a template. Perhaps cloning really is part of Ock's scheme.

What do you do with a child clone of one of your worst enemies? That poses some interesting questions? Will the kid grow up to be just like the original or will it become a totally different person?

Thats also true. Suppose the kid isnt a clone at all. Otto will transfer his mind to a helpless infant's body.

Whatever it is, Doc Ock messing with little babies, that's a new low for him. I know trying to nuke a whole city full of people that includes children is not exactly a nice deed, but using a baby is pretty sick.

I remember writing a fanfiction story one day about that At any rate, I agree with Joker on this one. Not that we should expect honorable behavior from a supervillain who would marry a gullible old widow for her nuclear reactor.

Eh. God only knows what it all means -- the tentacles, the infant, the whole freakin' picture.

I don't think I'm able to speculate anymore what Marvel's gonna do. I feel so "meh" about the current Spideyverse that it's hard to get excited about anything; my disappointment with ASM #600 was the nail in the coffin.

Happy new year to you, and everyone else here. Whatever 2010 brings for Doc Ock, good or bad, he's still awesomeness.



But I still think that baby is related somehow to the inevitable cure he's going to get for his current condition. And if handled properly, he could get himself a much more enhanced body that is not vunerable to Spidey's punches. So just imagine an amped up body + tentacles = BIG trouble for Spidey.

Ock's damn near unstoppable as it is with just the tentacles.

I have trouble to associate "Doctor Octopus" and "unethical scientific experiments", for some reason. Even the tests on Stunner seemed controlled and "sure".
