Thought I'd bump up the lair with a couple of scans of Ock torturing and terrorizing MJ and JJJ:

I don't know if any of you guys have seen it before, but the other day I uploaded this old commercial on to YouTube. It was for the Islands of Adventure theme park when it opened in 1999.

I think it's cool how Ock is wearing the Armani suit in the ad. And if I were ever in that kid's situation I'd be flipping my lid.
:otto:
Awesomeness at 20,000 feet!

I just recently dug those Spectacular Spider Man issues out from my collection and re-read them. Good stuff.

Time to bump up the thread with some (sort of) new art from the Master Planner:

I'm not sure tritium is supposed to be touched by human hands.

Announcement

Doc Ock is making his return to the comics some time at the end of this year. Mark Waid will be writing his story, which is great as he's one of ASM's best writers at the moment.

Something to look forward to this year :otto:

Remember this video that I made?

Ooooh, this might be a good year after all.

I haven't watched any of the Spider-Man movies in a dog's age. I got a HD TV back in October, and I'm ashamed to say until last night I had not watched any Spidey movies on it yet. So last night I popped in Spider-Man 2, and it looked just beautiful. They really need to bring it out on Blu-Ray. I want to see Doc Ock in Blu-Ray quality. Seriously.

The movie itself is still a joy. Watching Peter Parker's struggles in this is fab. From losing his jobs, to falling out with MJ and Harry, to missing the last canape on the tray. It's vintage Spider-Man stuff.

And then we have the one and only Doctor Octopus, played superbly by Alfred Molina. It's hard to pick a scene with him that I love the most. He's so brilliant in all of them. A total scene stealer. I love the Jurassic Park effect they gave him when you know he's coming. Like at Harry's mansion, or at the cafe. When the ground and walls shake, like the drums of impending doom.

I do think his classiest moment is on the train, when the passengers try to protect Spidey from him. It's like deja vu from SM-1, when the citizens on the bridge save Spidey from Goblin by tossing stuff at him. But here the tables are turned:

Ock: "He's mine!!!"
Passengers: "You want to get to him, you gotta go through us"
Ock: *Smiles* Very well"
*MASSIVE PWNAGE*

The essence of badass right there.

Well, well, well, look what little Wabbit finally hopped out of his hole :cwink:

They're actually not Blu-Ray screen caps, dude. Spider-Man 2 has not been released on Blu-Ray yet, though it's long overdue.

About a week ago, I uploaded the bank scene from SM2 onto YouTube. I was pretty surprised it had not been done yet. I forgot to share it in this thread.

I've also been working on another Ock video and I'm anticipating it will be finished by tonight.

Thanks. I had been looking for this clip for awhile. Why couldn't they have given Lee a better cameo? :csad:

^ Sure thing. I love Stan's cameos in all the Marvel movies; wish he had just a little bigger of a part in the first two movies. Those blink-and-you-miss-him cameos were still cool, though.

As promised, I uploaded my new Ock video to YouTube. I hope anyone who watches it enjoys. It's a retrospective of all of his appearances in the media over the years.

Great video! As cheesey as he 60's aniamted show is, it's still really fun to watch. and Ock was great.

That's one of the best fan made Doc Ock videos I've ever seen.

Every on screen incarnation of him is there  :otto:
