Can we get some scans of Ock beating the Hulk senseless in "Revenge Of The Sinister Six"?

Wow. At the risk of sounding like I'm complaining, that request didn't take long at all.

Hahaha, we aim to please in the house of Octopus :otto: :cwink:

Actually I already had these in my Photobucket account. Scanned 'em years ago. Same with the Ock vs Punisher scans. When you're running a fan thread for years you accumulate alot of scans.

The fan is pleased.
ANy Mark Brooks Ock rendereings? I loved those.
Or better yet, the fight scene in Spectacular where Spidey found Ock in an underground tunnel & they fought? I especially loved when they both said "Surrender? No."

I've never really celebrated Easter. Ever since I learned there was no real Easter Bunny back when I was a kid :oldrazz: Christmas is the only holiday I make a big deal of.

Btw, here's those scans of Ock dishing out some pwnage to the Punisher:

Perfection...

Thanks for sharing all the scans Joker, I'm enjoying them very much. :)

What a magnificent first post here

Welcome brian. Glad to have you join in the fun here. Tell us a bit about your Doc Ock fandom. How long have you been a fan of the tentacled one? Have you been catching his greatness in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon? Oh and best of all, did you hear he's making a major comeback in Amazing Spider-Man #600? Dr Doom threat level he'll be, to quote Dan Slott, who's writing the story.

LOL! Yes, you're both correct. Ock was actually multi tasking with his tentacles while issuing extortion demands to the Mayor of New York. He was prepping his poison with two tentacles, and beating up Punisher with another two.

It was brilliant. I must scan it tommorow.

Jesus! What is that from? Who's the costumed dude on Logan's left getting the claws thru his throat?

Well, I'm 39 years old and I've been a Spidey fan since I was a kid. I started with re-runs of the old classic 60s cartoon. Growing up in the 70s and 80s as a sci-fi geek, I discovered Dungeons and Dragons. Then in 1984, TSR (the company that published D&D back then) released the Marvel Super Heroes roleplaying game. The introductary adventure featured Doc Ock as the main villain, attempting to blackmail New York with a 50 foot tall robot copy of himself called the Octodroid. After that, I started collecting comics regularly. By this time I was about 14. I mostly concentrated on Spidey in particular and Marvel in general. Spider Man has, without a doubt, the best rogues gallery in comics. Some of my favorites are The Lizard, Sandman, Carnage, The Rose, The Hobgoblin (Kingsley) and, of course, Doctor Octopus.
I think what drew me most to Ock was his uniqueness. There is literally no other supervillain quite like him in terms of superpowers. Plus, the ability to super-multi-task is really cool, and it's something I wish to this day that I could do. And, like I mentioned earlier, Ock is truly Peters' opposite number. Much more so than Norman Osborn or Venom. It's that quality that makes Otto work so well as a villian. He was a geek at a young age, just like Peter. Otto was humiliated and abused by the 'in-crowd' and many of us can relate to that, and can relate even more to the desire to lash out at out tormentors. This, of course, doens't absolve Otto of the evil of his actions, but he represents a facinating reversal of Peters' philosphy of great power and great responsibility.
I have indeed seen the phenomenal Spectactular Spider-Man! Geez, I'm 39 and my favorite TV show is a Saturday Morning cartoon. I cannot get enough of this show and it's take on Ock. This is Doc Ock as he was truly meant to be portrayed. Peter MacNichol is better in the role than Alfred Molina was. And don't think for a minute that I'm putting down Mister Molina, he was outstanding in Spider Man 2. But Peter MacNicohol has put his heart and soul into his performance as Otto and it shows. Voice actors never get enough credit.
As far as Spidey comics go, these days I stay away. After what Quesada did in the One More Day/Brand New Day fiasco I just had enough. But with Otto coming back I will definately be picking up issue 600.
And we gotta get Otto a new set of Adamantium arms.

Mark Brooks, remind me which stories he drew?

You're very welcome. It's my pleasure.

That's great. I first came across Doc Ock in a video game of all places. The Spider-Man vs The Kingpin game on the Sega Genesis.

He was wearing the white armani suit, and I was instantly fascinated by him. He was like a giant spider himself walking on those tentacles. Then I started reading the comics, and it just took off from there.

I think what drew me most to Ock was his uniqueness. There is literally no other supervillain quite like him in terms of superpowers. You're a man after my own heart. I couldn't agree more. I've always thought that about Ock. If you watch the Spider-Man 2 DVD features, on the Ockumentary, the Marvel staff say "If Peter Parker is the geek gone good, then Octavius is the geek gone bad".

I have indeed seen the phenomenal Spectactular Spider-Man! Geez, I'm 39 and my favorite TV show is a Saturday Morning cartoon. I cannot get enough of this show and it's take on Ock. So very true. Mark Hamill's Joker is heralded as the definitive version of the character. Voice acting can be every bit as powerful as real life acting.

Do you have a favourite episode?

As far as Spidey comics go, these days I stay away. After what Quesada did in the One More Day/Brand New Day fiasco I just had enough. But with Otto coming back I will definately be picking up issue 600.
And we gotta get Otto a new set of Adamantium arms.

It should be out in July. I suspect this thread will be hopping with excitement. I hope you'll all be here to offer your reviews and opinions.

Specatacular Spider-Man favorite episode?

Reaction, of course!

"Silence!!! You imperious moron!"-best Ock line ever.

Wow, really? As if he weren't intimidating enough already...

I bet the real reason he created it was to get the satisfaction of literally being able to squash Spidey like a bug. It probably even had a giant rolled up newspaper hidden in its arsenal. :oldrazz:

Also, something new for the Lair...

Thats amazing dude. Di you actually draw that, or find that on the web? Either way, kudos. Better then what could ever draw.

Her name's on the bottom of the pic, but I totally agree on the amazing art.

Don't feel too bad, with talent like that, it's easy to be distracted. :cwink:

^^ Amazing art, M.S. Feather. This is why I consider myself the least talented artist among the Ottophiles of the Lair. :woot:

Welcome to the Lair, BrianBuck. Please accept my apologies for my tardiness.

This is what I'm expecting of Otto in the upcoming ASM #600:
1) The white suit.
2) A new harness of adamantium tentacles.
3) A new deliciously evil plan for world domination
4) Spidey being beaten halfway to death (I'm evil, I know)

Oh, and as for myself, I'm working on a couple new plushies and outfits, and I lost my glasses. :(

I'm not really an eye doctor, but I could get you a pair, if you visit Latveria, of course.

Eh...can't afford the plane ticket and the tentacle harness keeps setting off the metal detectors :o And then the microcephalic miscreants who work at airport security...

We can take a private plane, I am a Monarch of a Nation, but then, what would Mr. Master Planner say... If you hang with me, I'm pretty sure he would be a little jealous.

He'll never notice... or he might unplug the virtual reality machine my irl body is hooked into :csad:

I think we should probably cut this off before the Joker comes in and punts us out on both our metal-armed butts :o

Thanks for all the kind words. I'm working on a drawing of Doc Ock old school, the green and orange tights. I'll post it when it's done. as for your Spidey #600 wish list:
1. I'd like to see a return of the double-breasted suits too, but I doubt it'll happen. I just hope they don't go back to the horribly overdesigned trechcoat outfit that Ramos designed. I hope Ock keeps the commbed back hairstyle, though. The bowl cut never worked for Guy Gardner and Ock is also better off without it.
2. One-hundred-perect agreement. Ock needs his superpowerful adamantium arms to get back on the A-list of Marvel villains where he belongs. He even expressed a desire to reassemble them in Lethal Foes of Spider Man.
3. I'd like to see Ock learn from his mistakes and focus on something other than world conquest.
4. I'd like to see Ock kick the crap out of anyone, it never loses it's entertainment value, Personally, I think he could take on any one of Spidey's other foes and defeat them.

Time for me to post something that allows me to look like I'm doing something useful here:

Nice. An appropriate response from seeing those super cool, ultra scary arms.
