World Doc Ock's lair

I was able to tolerate Sins Past at the time but not anymore.

Brand New Day will not be changed anytime soon. Marvel are fully committted to loseing money now to make more later.
Clone Saga lasted, what, two years? Yet the Unmasking, which JoeQ (IIRC) said he would never ever ever undo, lasted less than half a year.

So we'll see, I guess.

As for Sins Past, I ignore it. *sticks thumbs in ears* La la la. :oldrazz:

You wary about that, Wabbit? I think a few of the classics could do with a bit of spiffing up in their costumes. Electro got one in Marvel Knights a few years ago.

I want to see Ock back in his armani suits:

No, not at all, it's just making me wonder what they'll do. It's intriguing. I wonder what they'll do for Shocker, for instance, or if they'll re-vamp Vulture or Kraven.

A healthy attitude.

Newsarama
And as Steve has already revealed, we’re going to begin moving hot and heavy into bringing back many of the classic Spidey villains, polished up and made to look spiffy and relevant for a new era.

You mean what Quesada did to Norman Osborn? In the Storyarc-That-Must-Not-Be-Named? :o

Poor Norman. What did he ever do to deserve That Story?

...

Oh, right. :o

:hehe:

I'm glad to hear that Ock is going to have a big part in the 600th issue of ASM. I've got every centenial issue since #300, and I'm hoping this one tops all of them. Whatever the good Doctor has planned, hopefully it's big. I'm glad to hear Slott is writing it, hopefully they got Romita Jr. for the art, although Marcos Martin wouldn't be bad either. What would be some of all of your different preferences for art?

I wouldn't mind Romita Jr. doing it as long as he doesn't give Ock that Reed Richards white lining in his hair again. I didn't like that. I'd love to see Deodato draw Doc Ock. I remember yearning for that when he was on ASM a few years ago. He was wasted in it with the s*** stories that were around then.

Do we know who is scheduled to do the art for #600?

In Sensational Spider-Man #28 back in July 2006. He also had a brief stint in the Thunderbolts, too.

Oh no, I favor Mark Bagley! Remember the white double-breasted suit? (drools) :otto:

I don't think we know any solid information on the artist for it yet. I remember that white lining thing from way back in JMS' early stories. I wasn't a big fan of it, but it didn't bug me too much either. Deodato would be good, but I'm not sure how fast he is, or how good he would be with multiple titles, and he's already wrapped up in the Dark Avengers title.

I would agree, except that I tend to favor Bagley's earlier art on ASM a lot more than his more recent stuff, like in USM. Is he working on anything now that he's off USM?

Yes my dear, there's a pic of it just a few posts above you :cwink:

I love Bagley, but I've seen a ton of his work in USM. I'd like something different.

The story was so good that I just about over looked it. But I still don't want to see it again. I don't want to be seeing any hair colour changes on Ock. Lets keep that brown hair bowl cut we all know and love.

Oh I'm not holding out any kind of hope that he'll be doing it. It's just I'd love to see his take on Doc Ock.

Honestly, I'm much more concerned with the writing than the art. I can overlook most bad artwork if the story is great. Not that I think they'll have bad artwork for the landmark 600th issue of ASM. It sounds like they're pulling out the stops for this one.

^^ Awesome! I saw preview art for that Ock in a vid a few weeks ago. didn't know it was for issue 600.

Re. Art for 600.

I've heard two rumours 1) McFarlane 2) Mutiple classic artists, ala Daredevil 100.

Don't know how much truth, if any, there are to either of these.

OK did some research and...

note the title of the clip that comes up at the end.

Wow, that's cool. I remember seeing that vid somewhere before. I remember thinking that the artwork there had been for Loeb and Campbell's Spidey project that was announced like 3 years ago now, and we've heard nothing about it since [Is that even still happening?].

Didn't know that was Brevoort there. Thanks Jack!

I heard that it will be released this year, but take it with a grain of salt: it came from Wikipedia.

I heard it somewhere legitmate, can't remember where though.

I posted that video a few weeks back and then suddenly remembered it today.

Here's a link to that Wizard interview with Kelly, Wacker, Slott, Waid, and Brevoort you mentioned, Demogoblin, where they mention that huge Doc Ock stuff is happening this year:

"New Ways to Die" brought Norman back into Spider-Man's world, and you've said you're bringing back a lot of classic villains. Are there other villains you're looking forward to reviving next year?

KELLY: Oh my God. All of them.

BREVOORT: We can say who we've just talked about, if you guys want.

WAID: I'm okay with that.

SLOTT: Yeah, sure.

WACKER: Doc Ock!

SLOTT: Huge Doc Ock stuff.

BREVOORT: And also we've got a great take on The Vulture. We've got a great take on Mysterio.

There was some Vulture sketches in that video you posted, Jack. Looks like that reaffirms it

The Master Planner episode debuts tomorrow on the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. Woooooo Hoooooo!!!!

It's already aired in Bulgaria, and I've read a few spoilers:

- Octavius is indeed the Master Planner
- He gets Vulture and Electro to kidnap Gwen so he can force Captain Stacy to give him some security codes he needs for his scheme to conquer the world
- Spidey will indeed be buried under a large pile of rubble and debris

Are we excited or what? :D :otto:
