Calamari anyone?

Yeah, lets hope if Ock ever decided to go toe to toe with Logan he'd have sense enough to go in with a way to neutralize him first...or just hire someone else to do it.

Greetings all,
I'm fairly new to the SSH boards. I'm a life-long Spidey fan but I think I actually find Doctor Octopus far more interesting. I've always felt that Otto was, and is, Spideys' one true arch-enemy. Partly because the whole Spidey/Green Goblin rivalry was dormant for 20 years and partly because it seemed so forced after they brought him back (Norman should've stayed dead). Octavius, however, is truly Peters' opposite number. Both are scientists who end up victims of failed experiments. Both are social outcasts, and both lose loved ones early in adulthood. Contrast Ottos' relationship with his father to the one Peter shares with his Uncle Ben. And Ottos' reaction to his fathers' death is the exact opposite of the devastation Peter feels after Ben dies.
My favorite Ock moment has to be in Spider-Man #19 (or it might be 18) at the beginning of Erik Larsens' Revenge of the Sinister Six arc. It's when Ock, with his recently rediscovered Adamantium tentacles, lays an epic excess of smackdown on the Hulk:
"You've got no leverage, my arms are unbreakable and their power source is virtually limitless. You'll not be winning this one."

What a magnificent first post here

Welcome brian. Glad to have you join in the fun here. Tell us a bit about your Doc Ock fandom. How long have you been a fan of the tentacled one? Have you been catching his greatness in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon? Oh and best of all, did you hear he's making a major comeback in Amazing Spider-Man #600? Dr Doom threat level he'll be, to quote Dan Slott, who's writing the story.

Oh, no, no, no, no. To say Ock owned the Punisher is an astounding understatement. Ock kicked the crap out of the Punisher while he was talking to the Mayor of New York on the phone! Epic awesome humiliating defeat.

I remember that; I think Ock didn't even bother looking at Castle when he poisoned him.

LOL! Yes, you're both correct. Ock was actually multi tasking with his tentacles while issuing extortion demands to the Mayor of New York. He was prepping his poison with two tentacles, and beating up Punisher with another two.

It was brilliant. I must scan it tommorow.

Jesus! What is that from? Who's the costumed dude on Logan's left getting the claws thru his throat?

Nice to meet you Brian. Hopefully I'll see you in other threads, and we can discuss other things.

I feel like the Mortal Combat voice just went 'Finish Them!" and Logan did exactly that. Can you kids say 'Brutality?'

Welcome to the forums Brian. :yay:

Jesus! What is that from? Who's the costumed dude on Logan's left getting the claws thru his throat?

That would be Klaw on the left there.

The panels are from Wolverine #70...great issue by the way.

All the super villains Wolverine is plowing through here are actually his fellow X-Men. Mysterio tricked him into believing that he was being attacked by his deadliest foes...cut to him standing over a pile of his friends shredded remains. It was awesome!!! >:D

I feel bad and good for that. Good cause I influenced someone for once, and bad cause I heard MC VS DCU sucked.

*laughs* Nah.

I do remember a lot of squealing about the fatalities (or heroic brutalities I should say) but I'd hate to say an entire game sucked because of the finishing moves. At its core it's just as solid a fighter as any of the previous MK titles but this time with the added bonus of getting to fight as some of your favorite DC characters.

I still pop it in every now and then to play a few rounds as The Flash or Joker and I beat it months ago, so I'm still getting plenty of fun out of it. If possible, I'd recommend at least giving it a rent some day.

Unless he could completely immobilize Logan's wrists, he'd still be screwed.

Didja ever notice that, in the unfortunately rare instances where Ock wins a fight, he wins big? Wether it's the Owl, the Hulk or the Punisher, when Ock gets the upper hand (tentacle?) he really puts a serious hurtin' on his opponents. Ya gotta love that.

Now that I think about it, when Ock beat the Owl, and dropped him from at least 20 feet in the air, they actually showed Owl lying in a pool of blood that they allowed to be colored red. Usually back in those days, blood was never colored red, just black ink was used to represent it.

By the way, the ligaments, tendons and other connective tissue in Wolverines' neck ain't made of adamantium. And we all know how good Otto is at the instantaneous neck snap. So I say the jury is still out...

Ironically, his name is Klaw; longtime foe of the Black Panther.

Ah thanks guys

So, what's up Ock fans? :otto:

Happy Easter, Everyone!

I hope we see him kill a few people in ASM #600. Some nice tentacle impalements would be sweet!

Hi all, I will write this here because, well, Doc Ock is the Master Planner.

I made sort of a fanfilm, not quite but almost, called "Spider-Man vs The Master Planner". It's the Spectacular Spider-Man Master Planner arc put togheter like a movie you know, like Attack of the Lizard. I have moved a couple of scenes of Blueprints and Destructive Testing episodes you know so it would look more like a movie. It turned out very nice. It's in widescreen too. However, the episode titles and other titles could not have been removed obviously. But should I upload the whole film somewhere, it's very nice watching all the episodes togheter. Anybody interested? Anybody know where I can upload the full movie and you know, not split the whole thing on Youtube. Wouldn't matter if nobody's interested I'm just bored.

I also tried this with the Green Goblin arc, didin't work out as well. I will try to do it again. But, I wanna hear your thoughts?

I couldn't resist making this, but this is for all my new homies (yes, I said homies) on here. Happy Easter everyone.

It sounds great, man. But I wouldn't have a clue where to upload something that big like that on-line.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

LOL! Very cute.

Happy Easter, man.

Um, yeah. Why don't you try starting a free account over at MegaUpload? The maximum file size you can upload there is 1024 MB, which is about the largest you can get anywhere without paying. If you can't trim your video down enough to fit in that size frame, I'd suggest you just go ahead and chop it in half.

Curse you for making me giggle! *shakes fist*

:p

Hope everyone's having a lovely Easter Sunday.

It was a very non Easter holiday for me. I skipped church, went to work and didnt have an Easter ham. It was just a Sunday. :csad:

I never go to church. 1: pretty sure we can all guess why and not make a big deal out of it. and 2: I'm to lazy to dress up for church. I'll stay in my pajamas all day, thank you.

I've never really celebrated Easter. Ever since I learned there was no real Easter Bunny back when I was a kid :oldrazz: Christmas is the only holiday I make a big deal of.

Btw, here's those scans of Ock dishing out some pwnage to the Punisher:

Can we get some scans of Ock beating the Hulk senseless in "Revenge Of The Sinister Six"?
