really hope Marvel doesnt sign Gosling, he looks nothing like Strange and seems younger that how the character is supposed to be, at least compared to Tony, Hulk and Hawkeye.

I wouldn't disagree with that. Think he'd be a great choice.

His link seemed quite assumed by Variety though. I found it interesting that Leto is "aggressively pursuing" it though given his acting breaks.

I'm also quite surprised Cumberbatch's name hasn't re-surfaced - Maybe that Hamlet play really did completely take him out of contention?

Hey Leto's gotta eat too. The man can't be loaded in cash do to the nature of his projects and how he does a film every now and then and even then he's not the main star and his band doesn't seem to be mainstream enough where he's raking in the cash. I'm sure he's probably better off financially then most of us here but as an entertainer/actor/movie star he's down the ladder compared to a lot of others. He wants that big pay day too if it's to be believed that he's pursuing the role. I think he'll commit to the role.

Enough with Cumberbatch, he's not going to be Strange. I think personally he's going to be Brainiac over at WB, but that's just my point of view.

I usually trust what marvel does with casting but the Gosling rumors really have me scratching my head.
I was excited by the idea of Jared Leto, I think he would do a decent job.

After reading all those articles of "Is *big name actor here* going to be Dr. Strange" it'd be funny if they end up going with someone completely unexpected who wasn't in any of the rumor articles...

I wonder if Jensen Ackles tried auditioning for this, it seems he tries to audition for any new Marvel movie

Love Ackles. Him doing Strange would be interesting. Would certainly add a bit of humour to the role.

Not this guy again. Nooooo! What is this hard on for this man? He's been mentioned for every super hero role that comes up. From Cap to Thor to Captain Kirk and so on. I can't say that I'm impressed by him because I don't watch Supernatural but I have seen a show or two and I don't see him as anything special or that he has something that screams he should be cast. I also remember that awful horror movie he did where he turned out to be the killer. Nah, he's not Starnge to me at all. Maybe Angel from Xmen

Just as I was getting over Phoenix declining the role, this new report pulls me back in.

Watch the role go to Reeves!!! When I first read about his name in the mix and his supposed response I had a feeling it was more to it. Even though he played coy and acted surprise i had a feeling that Marvel connected with him. I could be wrong and my other scenario is that all these names being thrown around are just that and we get someone unexpected like JASON BATEMAN.

Oh brother would Marvel just pick someone already. PLEASE MARVEL NO COLIN PHARRELL!!!! I just don't really care for the guy. Nothing's he's done has interested me. He's an ok actor but I hate it when them actors are overhyped by the Hollywood entertainment media and is hailed as the next big thing, and most end up with a so so career. I know it's not their fault but I just hate being told who to like by the entertainment brass as they try and push a star on us.

Now Justin Theroux as Strange has my attention. He's not to big and he's a decent actor and he can pull it off and I don't see a ton of him in movies. He seems to do movies once in a while.
