Yup, Strange is supposed to have been some kind of surgical prodigy/savant. It would actually make sense that he woukd be relatively young when hes at the height of his medical career, in fact, his massive ego and arrogance could be attributed to his lack of maturity/inability to deal with success and having too much to soon.

Its a double edged sword as i then see Strange in his late 30's/early 40's, once he's completed his training, and thus more mature and measured. So we possibly need an actor who they can age and de-age, ala Bale in Batman Begins.

Jake has been my choice for some time now. I'd be thrilled if he won the role. Isaac and Ewan would be my 2nd and 3rd choices respectively. Sans McConaughey I quite like the list. Looking forward to seeing who wins the role.

The thing is what is age anyway Mgregor is 43 and looks about 25. Then there are some who are 25 and look 40.

Marvel should get RDJ for the role. He will be instantly associated with it. When audiences ask "but wasn't he Iron Man" and are told that he was but is now playing a different part, they'll immediately say "hmm, that's strange. "

Leto is only one year younger than Ewan. I'm fully behind Jake Gyllenhaal. This is the first time my preferred choice is on the short list, so I'm crossing my fingers.

This is good news. All of these guys are excellent choices—though I would personally be extremely disappointed if they end up going with Leto.

But really, I would be delighted with any of the other guys on this list. I think they are all potentially perfect for Doctor Strange in completely different ways.

I'd be fine with most of those, just swap Leto out for Jim Cavaziel, as I still don't think he has the right "look" for Strange.
