Nice, Vartha
I'm surprised that not only did they not include any real action shots or a good look at him in the suit, but that I didn't mind. They set the stage so perfectly that it has me both super excited and dying for me. I legitimately think this is the best teaser for any Marvel movie, or recent superhero film, thus far. Mind you I'm referring to teasers and not full trailers.

:cmad:
Yeah, you kinda missed my point there. I'm not saying Loki was a Sorcerer Supreme or that they have the same kinds of tricks, I was saying they'll probably handle "magic" in the same way as they did with them - as in, no devices or special artifacts granting them those powers, no "scientific explanations" - it's just abilities some people can be capable of and master if they open their minds to learning the ways.

Well i see your point but i just dont agree with how Marvel handled Loki. He is indeed a master sorcerer and should've been dipicted as such. Loki can do feats like Strange. I just dont like how both Loki and Thor were underpowered. Well Strange will have artifacts though. The eye of Amagatto as im sure you know. I dont know man, i feel it should be special people who can learn magic. I think and feel that they have to be mystically attuned or their is something about them where they can access mystical forces like in that movie with Nic Cage, The Sorcerer's Apprentice. If anyone can just learn magic then everyone would have powers. I dont feel that 7 billion people on the planet can just become mystics with training.

Good to see the trailer. It looks strange. :o It's a shame that he doesn't use his natural English accent though but seems to be putting on an American one.

Why is it a shame? The man is from Philly, why would he have a British accent

Doctor Strange has one of the most unique and best origin stories. No way you wanna pass that up. We're not sick of origin stories. We're sick of rehashed and bad origin stories. Plus, his origin is helpful to introduce the audience into his world through his POV.

Seems to be ripping off Inception a bit.

Um no. If youve read Strange comics then youd know that twisting realities and cites and his home has been dipicted long before Inception. Unfortunately its gonna look like Inception cause their isn't another way to show this style.

Starnge has to have an Orgin story. One hes to obscure a character not to and also hisbstory is so rich and interesting

A bit late but I gotta say loved this teaser! This film is a dream come true, I love this character to death. Never thought I'd ever see him in the screen.

That's why I said "some people can be capable of." Not all people.

And your issues with Loki are a whole different topic. I agree Thor and Loki have been underpowered, but it's completely irrelevant to the point I was making.

Which was never at all integral to the character and, correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't even revealed until the 1990s. For the first 30 years, there was no story about where he was born and raised. As someone from Philly, I'm thrilled to have more people from Philly (although he apparently quickly moved to Nebraska, he wasn't raised in Philly). But making him British is certainly a far less dramatic change than Starlord's origin. I'd say it's less dramatic than the change to the Hulk's origin. At least those both happened early on in their stories, not 30 years later.

Enjoyed my first peek at the Dr Strange world and it only makes me more interested in seeing more which is what a teaser is supposed to do. Would I have wanted more? Sure, but I'm fine knowing I will get more eventually.

I'm suspecting she won't have a particularly large role in the film, more of a budding love interest for Strange and maybe damsel in distress towards the finale. What I do know is her character's last name is
Mason
and because of this I suspect she's
a new character created for the film, possibly inspired by the Night Nurse
Unless someone else more familiar with the comics knows of such a character.

Whoever she is, Feige said she would play a character who knew Strange before he became Sorceror Supreme who helps Strange anchor his humanity.

Love the teaser and cannot wait to see more.:hmr:

Nice wallpaper btw:ilv:

It'll be really cool if we see Dr. Strange fight some of the Avengers in the later movies. I mean not like a fight-to-the-death type thing, but probably something like Falcon vs. Ant-Man, a sort of mini-duel.

Dr. Strange vs. Thor, Wanda, Hulk or Vision would be wicked, even if only for a few mins. In the comics is Strange above those characters in terms of powers/abilities?

I like the old title font better. I hope they change it back.

Loved the trailer.

"teach me" sounded as cheesy as humanely possible tho.

And yes, it kinda looks inceptiony.

hopefully, it's both.

cuz it's time to introduce full blown magic, sorcery, and mysticism into the MCU.

I really fail to see how extracting souls from bodies, traveling between dimensions, and warping reality *isn't* "magic".

I would love to see dr strange meet Constantine! hell it will never ever happen

Advanced science.

I swear to god, whoever wrote that line..I wanna give them a smack.

Well, if it has consistent observable effects on the physical world, it's science anyway, whatever you choose to call it. Not technology, mind you, but definitely science.

Also, it's not like magic being a unique form of science that doesn't exist irl is anything new.

So I was watching IGN's analysis of the trailer (https://youtu.be/KAfblHdA8-o) and they pointed something out that I don't think has been mentioned here (if it has been mentioned, apologies for bringing it up again)...

A symbol representing the Tesseract (and the stone within)?

I'll have to look at the trailer again, but what makes them think that represents the Tesseract? Just because you see a pattern forming a square doesn't make it the tesseract

To ME Magic IS a form of Science. One that you don't need physical technology to use necessarily, but technological Objects that can enhance or direct of those forces.
