So Derrickson said on Facebook that the movie actually goes from 2016 to 2017. So I think it probably ends just before Ragnarok.

Maybe everyday medicine is more advanced in MCU, allowing Strange to recover rapidly from his surgeries. They do have people like Helen Cho after all.

Saw Dr. Strange yesterday with my family on IMAX 3D, and I think it is in the top 5 MCU movies for me. Unbelievable visuals, stunning action, and terrific performance from multiple Oscar-caliber actors really made this into a must-see movie of the year.

Hadn't thought of Cho!

I sat down with the great Hannibal and Casino Royale star during the Doctor Strange junket in Los Angeles in late October -- and at the end of our conversation, asked what he thought about his future as Kaecilius. Mikkelsen was mostly non-committal in his answer, but definitely did leave the door open for the character's return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Said the actor,

I don't know. He was not looking too sharp in the end of this movie, but you never know.

In response to this, I noted that neither Doctor Strange nor Dormammu killed Kaecilius in the movie, and that the character was instead just taken away to another dimension. To this Mads Mikkelsen responded with a smile,

Yeah, it's like [snaps] a blink of an eye away.

I mean, are any of the villains in the MCU really dead? As in the books, they never find a body.

Well there IS one, Obadiah Stane.

WAIT and Ivan Vanko

Pretty sure Alexander Pierce died too. And in the case of Ronan and Killian, of course they never found the bodies... they both literally exploded. :hehe:

And unless Malekith somehow managed to survive that hugeass spaceship falling on him, I'm guessing he's probably dead too. :cwink: But comic book deaths and all that, I guess.

heh yeah yeah, but, Killian could "heal back" and Ronan like Skull were vaporized by an infinity stone, they could both cosmically come back lol

like I just said, even Mal could return being infused with an Infinity Stone. Aether was splintered into zillions of pieces and was still there. I'm sure Mal could pull himself together if his will is strong enough

and Ultron is technically dead as well, unless his AI ends up getting uploaded to a technological source

^ Ultron never really dies. He just comes back stronger than before. At least that's how it is in the comics. :/

Still don't really believe Ronan died. What a waste.

Iron Monger, Whiplash, Laufey, Killian, Malekith, Kurse, Ronan, The Other, Yellowjacket and Ultron are dead.

Well both Ultron and Arnim Zola had internet to escape into, even tho Ultron was blocked from the internet, I bet SOMEWHERE he has a itty bitty piece of himself hid

I always thought Ultron's "death" scene was a little vague. It gave me the impression he's still around somehow.

That's nice to know where the timeline ended, at least. I assumed the film took place after Age of Ultron but before Civil War.

Now that someone mentioned Helen Cho, I'm a bit bummed she didn't get a mention. lol

I'm curious to see if that Captain Marvel "Easter egg" pans out. That's an interesting origin story if so.
