Clara's leaving? Good riddance to incredibly cute rubbish.

Clara was an almost unbearably boring character, with an illogical - and entirely unearned - plot conceit where her actual personality should have been.
As much as she was beginning to show signs of growth, maybe next time we'll get a companion who has more to offer than unrelenting, and frankly baffling, sing song-y chirpiness about almost absolutely everything!

Apart from that she was fine though.

I'm reading Engines of War, the new War Doctor novel, and it is really good. One of the best Doctor Who books out there.

Just started my NuWho marathon yesterday. I have been going at quite the pace. Halfway through series 2. Can Rose just go away already.

God I hope she is not leaving. Love her. If not for her, the sting of Amy leaving would have been too much. Amy, 11, and Clara in such a short amount of time? Could kill me.

The only way I'd be happy with it if the Rose Leslie rumors were true.

let's not forget that Clara is now a teacher at Coal Hill school... she's got a life of her own and she can do only so much time and space-hopping with the Doctor before she's going to have to make her teaching duties a full-time priority, along with her own personal life away from the Doctor... I really think her time is running out as a companion...

Deep Breath is 75 minutes. All in all Series 8 is a grand total of 15 minutes shorter than usual.

Well, I've now seen episode 3 of Series 8! I can't help myself.

A quick non-spoiler review is the comedy is fantastic, and I'm really happy with what they're doing with Capaldi so far without making him a cartoon character.

Robin Hood is fantastic. His banter with the Doctor will make you all crack up. They're also still managing to make Clara more and more what she should have been when she was introduced - feeling like a real person with real issues and feelings.

yeah, I'm guilty, too... saw it last night... and you're right, the comedy and hilarity in this ep is GREAT without making it seem buffoonish or silly...
