Oh lord, the cliffhanger :mrk:. Cant wait till the next episode! Also, Missy was real fun this episode .

Was surprisingly ecstatic to see Davros again! Definitely my favorite opener since The Eleventh Hour.

My jaw dropped when they continued the flashback to the Doctor and the little boy in the battlefield. I didn't for one moment think the Doctor would [blackout]just abandon the kid to his death, even if he was Davros. I thought the guilt the Doctor felt throughout the episode was guilt for allowing one of the universe's greatest monsters to live, not the guilt of leaving a child to die.[/blackout]

Like he's actually going to vaporize that kid.

Just like he wouldn't kill Hitler. It's the whole, "would you kill Hitler if he was a helpless kid" choice.

the return of Davros and Missy was great... welcome back to both...

I think the Doctor's existence inspires Davros to create the Daleks. Seeing someone with that level of power doing nothing to stop the war itself is why the Daleks exist.

I really, really liked it. Missy and Clara were great, and of course the Doctor was in rare form.

My money is on the Doctor saving Davros. He is the "friend" he is speaking about, and this will lead to Missy and Clara not dying.

Did they change how they film this? I felt like I was kind of watching them as they filmed.
Yep, it definitely felt different. The frame rate was different.

This was a pretty good start to things. I like that it felt very BIG on many levels. Big choices, big characters in Missy/The Master, Davros and the Daleks and Capaldi being big with both humor and deep emotion. It looked great to. Lots of scope. Worth the wait and I want to see where this all goes. I like the Doc's more toned down apparel though his magician's outfit would still be welcome.

The Doctor's new outfit makes him look like a English Lit professor who either makes too little money or way too much.

I'm trying to find a way to twist this into innuendo and I'm failing.

I don't know about anyone else, but did you catch that quick throw-away line where Missy was describing the friendship between her and the Doctor?... she stated that the Doctor was a girl at one point... so that obviously means that the Doctor HAS changed gender at some point... interesting...

She said one of the things she said was a lie.

I love it when the Doctor and Master are in "frienemies" territory. The Master can make for an interesting villain, but she's always a fun ally who might betray you at any second.

Clara is lucky Missy is already fond of her (having picked her out to be the Doctor's new companion herself). The only other companion I think the Master would've tolerated this much would've been Jo.

Yeah, that would mean the Doctor had at least one more regeneration than previously known and would bring up some interesting questions on why.

Would seem odd considering what happened in "The Night of the Doctor".

Every Doctor regeneration has been a male so far, it could of been a reference to River Song or the Doctor's daughter, Jenny.

River Song used the rest of her regeneration to save the Doctor.

This was in reference to the Doctor himself directly and he has never been female unless they retcon that in which is why it was a lie. That would then necessitate the explanation for the how/why he had a hidden regeneration we never knew of.

Don't worry, this will all be rectified when Hayley Atwell becomes the 13th Doctor. ;)

Well, The Other could've been a little girl, but the TV series probably wants to ignore him(her), and I doubt the Master knows about the Other anyway.

Watched the episode last night. Missy was great and the Doctor rocking out on the guitar was a phenomenal scene. It's going to be interesting how the next episode plays out.

Is it possible Missy and Clara teleported before being "killed"? Bodies usually don't vaporize when blasted by the Daleks.
