Which hand is your dominate hand? Or are you ambidextrous?

I can write with both hands though I do mroe **** with my right hand

I am a righty, but I need both for certain things.

i started out lefty but was taught to write with my right hand . i went back to being a lefty but can draw and write with the other hand as well.

i meant to say i prefer to write with my left hand and draw with my right .

It's actually pretty rare to be a strict left-handed person as most of the world is geared toward right-handers. So most 'left-handed' people use both hands depending on the situation.

You mean "either hand"...

I heard this thing awhile back...That people are only left handed because they were originally conjoint twins but, very early on in the womb the one on the right side died off...Or something like that...Can anyone back this up...?

Why is saying 'both hands' inaccurate? I use both my hands for various activities, as opposed to just one of them for all activities.

If you're trying to 'get me back' for criticizing your use of 'dominate,' you're arguing semantics when I was pointing out the use of a verb in place of an adjective. 'Dominate' is a verb, whereas 'dominant' is an adjective.

This is ******ed. Why would this be true for left handers but not for right handers? The argument would have to be that all people are conjoined twins but 90% of the left side twins die, leaving most people to be right handed. Sounds like one of those redneck old wives tales.

Oh, and it's 'conjoined twins' not 'conjoint.'

Thats the best explanation ive heard so far but i believe it doesnt take a twin to be left handed

Oh no no...I said "either hand" because you originally started off by saying that lefties use both hands depending on the situation...By this I thought the context of the statement was that they could use both their left and right hand depending on their task...Sorry for the confusion there...And...Thank you for correcting me...With the "dominant hand" thing...And "conjoined".

Damn sister...And she is left handed too...! If you check out Wikipedia...they got some info on "handedness".

I was trying to explain why there were no left-hand votes so far. Most 'left-handed' people would put themselves in the ambidextrous category because they've learned to adapt to a right-hand dominated world by using both hands.

I've read a lot about handedness.

Thanks for the clarification there...

I totally misinterpreted what this thread was about based on the title.

Right hand; my penmanship's really bad with my right, but my left refuses to cooperate as far as writing goes.

Good...That's kind of what I was going for...

...To be honest...My left hand on its own is almost completely useless...any other northpaws feel this way?

By dominant hand you mean the one I use to *********e?
