Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 2

Apparently.

And I don't know that they will keep the same structure next season. The show has become significantly more serialized since Season 1.

I'm so curious how they plan to keep the same structure in season 3. How they'll be doing smaller cases while they're searching for Hannibal. God damn that **** is gonna be so ****ing epic. I do wonder how they intend to keep the Will/Hannibal dynamic fresh. There's gonna be **** tons of role reversals. It's just what this show does.

Fuller said that Hannibal's aunt and uncle from HR will appear in season 3, so perhaps Hannibal flees to their estate in France. Maybe We'll see Will in Europe trying to track him down.

I doubt we'll see anyone in Europe seeings as the show barely (if ever) leaves the Maryland/Virginia area. It's my one peeve with the show, that all the fantastic super villain level serial killers seem to operate within few hundred miles of Baltimore. I'd buy it if they were all former patients of Hannibal, but so far it seems like only a small portion of them have been.

A good portion of Season 1 was outside the greater Baltimore area. Most of which was in Minnesota dealing w/ Garret Jacob Hobbs so I don't see why a French locale would be out of the question.

They really are more like intellectual equals though. Just because Will knows how to play the game now doesn't mean he's smarter than Hannibal. We still have two episodes left this season. We don't know what Hannibal is going to do.

It seems that when both of them are clear of mind Will has an advantage to me with the way the second half of this season has played out (he's not only convinced Hannibal he's also a killer/cannibal, he got him to admit outright that he killed Abigail). But I do think thetipping point is that Will is still privy to his emotions, which is why he gave Alana that gun when he maybe shouldn't have in the overall picture, and that scene with Mason seemed very emotionally driven (although, there could be some reason for that that we'll see next episode). Hannibal clearly doesn't have that handicap.

Even so, Minnesota isn't really pushing the bounds of all the interesting locales they could/should have had. Maybe we'll see France, but I'd put money on the characters just showing up in Baltimore.

Tonight's episode was intense. A certain scene almost caused me to vomit. I give them points for the in-your-face nature of the program...I am surprised it aired on network tv.

Michael Pitt was amazing he was channeling Gary Oldman tonight.

Haha! I was cracking a smile and cringing the entire time. Didn't know that was possible.

Damn Hannibal can fight. He damn near did a break dance move on those fools.

Michael Pitt is so damn good.

I don't normally like doing the whole "This guy should play Joker!" thing, but damn, he was straight up channeling Joker when he was feeding the dogs.

Now I'm convinced NBC has never seen this show. Because DAMN. The stuff Fuller gets away with makes me so happy.

They said "free range rude" tonite too! Made me grin ear to ear

"Discourtesy is unspeakably ugly to me."

Well, I guess Mason's outward appearance resembles Hannibal's perception.

I loved Hannibal's annoyance with Mason going around his office like he owned the place.

:hehe:

Wow! What an insane episode!! This show knows no boundaries! Pitt was brilliant!

I'm wondering who Bedelia might have meant of Will being
forced to kill someone he loves
. Alana, maybe?

My thoughts on last night's episode summed up in two emoticons:

:wow: :barf:

Great episode. Long, beautiful intense buildup, and what a heck of a pay off.

Watching Hannibal's surprise, rare though it may be, is always hilarious.

Michael Pitt was amazing he was channeling Gary Oldman tonight.

He's been doing that since his first appearance on the show. As I've mentioned earlier in the thread, Michael Pitt speaks with the same inflection Gary Oldman gave to his version of Mason Verger, much in the same way Raul Esparza's performance of Dr. Chilton mirrors Anthony Heald.

Michael Pitt has to play the Joker. I will not accept whoever plays the Joker next it if it isn't him.
