Duncan Jones' Warcraft - Part 1

Speaking as someone doesn't really care about the games, this looks bad. Nothing in this trailer sold me on this film and I feel like I've seen it three times already.

Prrfft, they'l make a questline in WoW where purchasing a ticket is an requirement. :mnm:
Considering the way they are shedding subscribers, that might not save it. :o

Roven said they were still tinkering with it, but it was practically done.

My old man loves stuff like this, we'll probably hit matinee. I ain't a WoW fanboy but it looks good enough.

Seems odd that Jones and co have said that it's practically done. So 7 months on the shelf?! Strange.

Still shots of the CGI look great. It's when it's moving where it stands out.

The dialogue reading didn't sound all that stellar either.

I said last year that post-production would not be lengthened, no matter when it comes out. Because to lengthen post cost more money. What they would do is simply stretch it out. No overtime or late nights, just a regular work schedule, but the same amount of time.

The first photos made me rethink this, but not now. Remember, MoS sat on the shelf for the same amount of time, when moved from December to June.

Because there are tons of video game franchises out there that would make great films, assassins creed, metal gear solid, the last of us etc.
While I wouldn't say no to some of them, those games rip off movies and television already. The movies already exist, and in better form then we would probably get from them.

I didn't even know that about MoS, wow.

This is why I get upset when directors get too enamoured by technology. The CG is alright but for them to say it's pretty much done made to crazy.

I'm happy with the trailer and my excitement for this remains at a high level.

Next year is going to be a great year for movies :woot:

I still think the two mediums aren't all that compatible.

...sure. :o

No reason why you can't make a good film in a game universe (or universe of any medium that has sufficient depth). Don't need to try and tell the exact story of the games if you are faithful to the setting at least.

I was not feeling that trailer at all. Also the visual effects aren't doing it for me.

Well, I still enjoyed Van Damme with a beanie and Kylie Minogue in a one piece thong.
