Duncan Jones' Warcraft - Part 3

It makes me wonder about the future of non-comic book and non-Star Wars tentpoles. Perhaps, my theory is right and we'll see more mid-sized tentpoles. Maybe more ambitious original stuff to counter Marvel/Disney and Warner Bros.

The only original movie out right now is Popstar. And that is saying something.

Nah I won't worry, we till have tentpoles from other studios like Avater, Planet of the Apes, Fast and Furious, Transformers, Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible ect. That's a good variety of tentpoles. Which is a good thing.

The Movie isnt out yet right? i saw that it has a rotten tomato score of 29 and i was worried.

I really hope the movie is a success, its the kind of fantasy i love and would see more.
Especially the world of warcraft world has potential for cool movies.

For this portion of the year, it's looking like the best received movies are

Deadpool, Captain America: Civil War, Jungle Book, and Angry Birds? Lol

But wait it's not successful, so of course the best movie of the year is therefore irrelevant.

Zootopia is the highest rated movie this year.

has made 70 million overseas already and it is expected to open big in china which opens on Wednesday the 8th

Are you talking bout RT? Because it isn't. It is in fact "Love and Friendship".

I stand corrected. I was simply adding to this:

It can make more than Civil War in Russia. But Blizzard is cult here.

So I guess a sequel isn't completely out of question.

Legendary, continuing to bet on China. Though I imagine that Wanda's influence is able to help get the screen count up so high.

dat china money
The Duncan Jones-helmed fantasy actioner has logged 136 rmb ($20.7M) in advance ticket sales as of Monday evening locally and currently has the third-highest midnight pre-sales total of all time, behind Furious 7 and Avengers: Age Of Ultron; it will pass the latter today. All of the 285 midnight Imax screenings have been sold out at 5.5M rmb ($837K); that tops record holder Furious 7’s 5.4M rmb ($822K at today’s exchange rates). Midnights kick off Tuesday night.
