E3 2011: Microsoft Edition

I'm really curious how the Star Wars Kinect game has come along. Its obvious last year was just a little tech demo to show that they are working on the game. I'm excited to see exactly what the game looks like and how it plays

I'm definitely interested in the Kinect Star Wars game as well. Didn't really like the video with the unnamed Jedi fighting stormtroopers, vulture droids and AATs (since they're from different trilogies), but I think the game could be good/fun. There was a recent report that the game will also feature pod racing, the ability to play as a rancor and, of course, Jedi battles that you can play standing up, but also seated.

I'm probably getting a new 360 next month. I'm going to give my current 360 (20gb version, no hdmi) to my cousin, for her kids. I was looking into the new 250gb version with Kinect. I almost bought it a few days ago, but I decided to wait until Microsoft's E3 press conference.

Wait, it sounds like Batman:AC will have exclusive content on 360. WB giving exclusive stuff....to Microsoft?

The end of the world IS coming...it's just delayed.

I think ur reading way too much in to it. The game will prob just be shown during their conference. WB has a working relationship with Sony, not MS.

Times change, maybe Microsoft threw some money towards WB for some exclusive content. Just because they've had a working relationship with Sony doesn't mean they can't switch or maybe even exclusive content for each system just different content. Like Soul Caliber 4 and the Star Wars characters.

Probably a beta like Brotherhood did. What console does that series sell better on? I assume it's pretty close.

The 360 version sold slightly more(3.6m to like 3.3). The series has sold better on the 360 for each version.

Don't most games with MP sell better on the 360? Unless they have some sort of super pack in like DS2.

Well, hasn't been 100% confirmed. I bet we get confirmation at E3 with some video on it as well as a Halo 4 teaser.

I wasn't impressed with what they showed before, and considering how they've gone completely dark on this game, I have my doubts about it. If they do show it though, I hope it looks better this time.

Also, I would much rather have a new Rainbow Six.

It was confirmed a while ago that they are working on remastering Combat Evolved, and it was separately stated that 343 will be releasing Halo games more frequently than Bungie did (meaning with less than 3 year gaps).

Rumours are that instead of just re-releasing the game mastered for 360 resolution and controls and multiplayer, that it will feature "new art". Some rumours are saying it will utilize the Reach engine as ODST did with the Halo 3 engine.

It seems logical that with no big Halo announcements hinted (like a continuation to MC's story), and with the 10th Anniversary of CE being only months away, that this would be the chance to officially release images or video clips or a statement or something.


Also, I highly doubt we'll get a Halo 4 trailer - if we got something that HUGE it would have been mentioned prior to E3.

I'm hopeful for an announcement on Halo 4... even if it's the tiniest bit of information just to let us know that it is coming.

I'm fairly pumped about the CE remake.. more so if it has it's own MP and not just a Reach disk pack in... which I have a feeling it will be.

I hope they make all the Halo:CE (PC) maps with the Reach engine and release that on a disc with all the Reach maps. I could see them doing something like that so that they could sell the game at full price. Halo:CE+Maps+Reach Maps.

The PC maps were awesome. It's a shame that Bungie never remade them for any of the sequels.

I'm thinking they might do what they did with Halo Reach a few years ago, just show a teaser showing us absolutely nothing but letting us know that is on the way.

IMO, the question is not will Halo 4 be announced, the question is WHEN will it be announced, in the begining, middle or end?
And the sad part is that everyone will have a geekgasm and forget how s**tty Microsoft Game Studios is.
I´m a big Halo fan, but MS needs way more than Halo, Fable and Forza.

If the rumors are right, there will be two Halo games (Halo remake and Halo 4) and two Forza games (Forza 4 and Forza World)....let´s hope Fable 4 gets announced so we can have the all gang together.

On other news...

Does this mean the all "core games for Kinect" are in fact core games with Kinect support and not Kinect games per se?

I hate when people rag on Microsoft for giving us more Halo, Fable, ect. Sony does the same thing... We're going to see more Uncharted, probably more God of War something or other, Twisted Metal, ect...

Granted, there hasn't been a TM for YEARS... but still.

I'm a sequel fan myself. Yeah, I like new IP's but I'll take more games in my favorite series no problem.
