The projected top ten total for this weekend would also represent the largest unadjusted top ten Christmas weekend total ever. The current top ten Christmas weekend record is the $255.2 million top ten total of December 25 - 27, 2009, which was led by the $75.6 million second weekend take of Fox's Avatar.

Yeah.. this 2nd weekend is definitely beating BvS' opening Weekend. I thought I was overestimating with 160+ million, but looks like 175 mil will be the median going in.

Oh I don't know I think BvS could make 200 or high 100's million opening weekend.

Even if a lot of them aren't big threats with a big opening, there is still a lot of movies opening, and they need screens. The Revenant, Hateful Eight, and Concussion are likely to do the best out of the movies opening.

Only Concussion and Joy are going wide on Christmas Day. The Revenant and Hateful 8 are limited releases until January. None has a chance against Star Wars but should do well in their own right.

3 weekends of 100 or more would be nut but again this is SW we are talking about. I was glad and surprised with how while JW did and the movie made more then like any body thought it would and yes Jurassic park is a big franchise but not like star wars. This movie and JW are my 2 favorite movies of the year and both are 2 franchise I love and where to of the first movies I saw and loved. I was born in 89 so Jurassic park came out I was only 4 didn't see it in theaters and of course I was born after star wars but again it was one of the first movies I saw and loved. To have 2 of my favorite franchise and franchise I grew up with doing so great in the same year is just awesome.

Oh much do you think BvS will make OW and WW by the end? I think the movie could make around avenger numbers of 200 OW and WW end up at around 1.6 billion.

There are just so many factors. I'm not sold on BvS as a guaranteed mega blockbuster. WB really needs to step up their marketing, though.

While they still got about 3 months and there have already been sever trailers so I don't think the marketing has been bad and I think with it being super man and batman together for the first time the movie is going to make at list a billion WW even if the movie sucks.

I don't think the SW hype will calm down anytime soon. When TFA hype starts to go lower, time will come for the Rogue One teaser to be released. And then it starts all over again....

Only 6 movies have had opening weekends above $163m. If TFA pulls that off, it would have two of the 7 biggest weekends in history.

I do wish my crowd had been more into it, it was a 7:00 Saturday night showing but they were very quiet. Rowdy crowds who really get into it are more fun as long as they behave themselves!
