The film is doing perfectly fine.

It's funny because I have been reading message boards where dislikers are acting like perfectly normal non holiday numbers are disappointing. Some people need to acknowledge their lack of understanding concerning box office numbers.

Has it been released in Taiwan yet? If so, how is it doing there?

Yeah, it's out in Taiwan. I don't know their box office well enough to know how its numbers compare to the other big blockbusters, though.

Isn't today opening day in China? Very interesting in watching those numbers.

EDIT: Apparently it's January 9th.

Thanks, hopefully it will be well received.

Box Office: 'Star Wars: Force Awakens' Tops 'Avatar' to Become No. 1 Film of All Time in North America.

Yep, it's still ahead of Jurassic World's 3rd week weekday numbers by a good bit and that's after already making Avatar money in only 2 weeks. If it only holds as well as Jurassic World from here on out, it will still have $150 million the tank domestically.

Is that the IMDb board? That place is just a wall to wall nuthouse. Reading the TFA board there, you'd think most moviegoers hate the film and wonder how it ever made so much money. But then they think Disney paid off critics to give it good reviews and are cooking the books to make it look like a much bigger hit than it is.

I'm sure some people were making excuses for this movie being successful the day Disney announced it.

Well, yeah. Some people are trying to have an honest discussion on IMDb but they're drowned out by others who just want to pick fights and slam the movie.

In which they're currently talking about SW, I kid you not. :funny:
Oh my god really?!!!

Why am I surprised, it's not surprising. I'm done, I'm just done. Everytime I try to defend my fellow DCEU fans I end up looking foolish. :funny:

I swear I love a great deal of people there but sometimes the stanning gets to be too much for even me and I'm a shill.

Has James Cameron released a statement yet about TFA taking the domestic record from Avatar?

He'll probably just shrug and say, "I'll get the title back when Avatar 2 comes out."

What I'm wondering, is how Star Wars Rogue 1 will do. It's set in the Star Wars universe but not apart of the new main storyline. Wonder how it's Box office will do compared to other heavy hitters of 2016 like ID4, BVS, civil war, Finding Dory etc

Rogue One is a prequel. I doubt it's going to be doing gang busters. Jurassic World numbers are a stretch I feel, unless there is zero competition next year. No Jedi or major characters that we know of. Vader won't be the main villain, and even if he was, I doubt there are a lot of interesting things to do with the character. He visits Padme's grave? Actually that would be interesting... was she buried or cremated? I forget.

But yeah, not really interested in seeing Star Wars Rebels in live action. That's basically what it appears to be. I hope they find something interesting there, but it doesn't appeal to me as a Star Wars movie.

I'll say that a Batman vs. Superman movie SHOULD make more money than Spider-Man, Avengers, Iron Man, etc. Whether it does is a different story.

That being said, though, Batman vs. Superman isn't Star Wars in terms of pop culture.

No movie or property deserves to make X amount, sight unseen.

See I can see why DC fans would be obsessed with Marvel because Marvel are the top dogs but I always find it odd how obsessed Marvel stans are with DC. Marvel are on top, you guys are punching down. Punching down isn't interesting or funny, that's why conservative comedians aren't funny.

Some people on hype like to cause trouble and then say that fans are too thin skinned and paranoid.

As I said both the Marvel and DC fan bases are being delusional. Star Wars is in a class all it's own.

And then there is the X forum...

There is a BvS box office thread.:funny:

Sure to be a good source of entertainment. As well as the Civil War box office thread. Though, I feel a bit bad for the Captain America fans, as that forum has been infested by Spidey fans. (Seriously, look at how much they are feeling a Spidey cameo could have on the box office)

Spider-Man fandom has been taken over by 12 year olds. I can't take that place seriously.

Do you think I was punching down? That certainly wasn't my intention. I was trying to give an honest appraisal of where things were at and really want some good DC superheroes (like Nolan's Batman).

Honestly, I didn't read your post and I wasn't talking about anyone in particular. That's not a dig at you, I was more scanning the thread since this whole thing started.

DC and Marvel fans are like the Yankees and Red Sox fans. They'll always be obsessed with each other no matter which one's on top at the time. Even when there's a bigger top dog around.

I never saw a baseball fans that liked them both. Can you imagine someone going into Fenway wit a half RedSox, half Yankee hat on? I can, but I just can't imagine them leaving except in an ambulance or a hearse. :woot:

Anyway I read Marvel comics more when I was a kid, but really like any cool movie. Loved Nolan's stuff, but wasn't as impressed with MoS. Can't wait for WW!!!

Oh....I was talking about DC/Marvel stuff, but like both. Just wondered.
