I would imagine, if the rumor is true, the whole idea of a past and present storyline with 2 different Ant Mans
But Superman is totally different. First of all in my opinion its much harder to do DC characters because of all the endless timelines we have going on. Second of all, Superman is a very difficult character to do right in the first place. Sure the classic two Donner films were great, but those were the first Superhero movies. Ever since him, no ones managed to get Superman right, plus he's invincible and he's a perfect alien, its kind of hard to relate to him. After the success of the Avengers, I'm sure if Marvel prioritized it, they could make it happen.
Anyway Hank Pym was mentioned in the scripts for Thor so I wouldnt be surprised if he becomes a second string character like Black Widow or Hawkeye in Avengers 2.

I still am AGAINST an Ant Man film. Yeah it's cool it will introduce Wasp. And maybe we see the beginning of Ultron, but for the love of god who is the villian? Egghead? I know no one wants to see woman beater Ultimate version Hank Pym.
Sell me on an Ant Man film? Why would anyone want to sit down for 90 minutes to see an Ant Man film? Egghead, Whirlwind and Black Knight as villians don't wow me.
Why would it be the "beginnings" of Ultron? Why not just make Ultron the villain?
Here's what I see happening, based on the earlier script rumors, and based on how I see them incorporating it into Avengers 2:
Hank Pym is a brilliant scientist/inventor who developed Pym Particles back in the 1980s during the Cold War, and developed the Ant-Man suit. But when SHIELD tried to bring him in, Pym got disgusted with the government and the spycraft and dropped out to become a recluse.
Fast forward to 2012...er, 2014. Scott Lang is a desperate man whose daughter is dying of an incurable disease. Lang resorts to burglary to make a living to try to get enough money to pay for the medicine to save his daughter's life. One of the houses he turns over is actually Pym's, and Lang actually steals the Ant-Man suit, with no idea what it is or what it does. Pym actually witnesses the burglary, but lets Lang go, admiring his chutzpah and wondering what Lang will do with the suit.
Meanwhile, Pym has started researching his Pym Particles again after a 30 year hiatus, and has made a breakthrough in reversing the reduction process. He can now theoretically *grow* --- to gigantic sizes. Pym is also dabbling in robotics, and has created the protoype for a robot that has incredibly impressive AI. He dubs the robot "Ultron."
Ultron pops up on SHIELD's radar. (Possibly from some sort of attack that Pym doesn't know about, or denies.) Fury sends out one of his top agents, Janet Van Dyne, to recover Ultron. But VanDyne is brought up short when she finds Pym looming over her --- FIFTY FEET over her. "Giant-Man" puts the beat down on Janet, hard, and things don't look good --- until something happens. Giant-Man starts spazzing out, smacking at himself, like he's being attacked by some stinging insect --- which he is. LOTS of insects. Great swarms of ants bring the colossus down...
Janet is surprised to see her rescuer almost magically appear before her in a funky red suit with a silver helmet. His name is Scott Lang, and he promises to get her to safety from giant Pym --- but she's going to have to trust him. She doesn't have much choice, so Lang gives her a strange green gas to breathe --- and she suddenly starts shrinking....
From there, the story develops into a love affair between Scott Lang and Janet Van Dyne. Pym is initially seen as a bad guy by them, and by SHIELD, but eventually, as Ultron grows more powerful and more deadly, they realize that Pym is the only one who can help them defeat the robot. The crisis reaches breaking point when Ultron breaks into Pym's particle research, and is able to grow himself to giant size as well. Pym allies with Ant-Man (Lang) and does some modifications on a tiny Janet Van Dyne to make her the Wasp, and together, Giant-Man, Ant-Man and Wasp go toe to toe with a giant evil robot in the middle of downtown Manhattan....
....or something like that.![]()
I can't see Ultron as the villain in an Ant Man film, so out of these names who is the better villain.
KLAW
Egghead
Whirlwind
Who would you want to see cameo in the film?
Ultron shouldn't be the villain of an Ant-Man movie, because it would be a serious nerf to one of the best Avengers villains ever. Go ahead and have Hank create Ultron, but save actually *fighting* Ultron for Avengers.
And, I should say that, as skeptical as I am of Ant-Man, unless the trailers were awful, I'd still go see it. Marvel has earned my trust.
