Elfman is Working on the Music

This is fantastic news.

To tell you the truth, although I was announcing my worry-free attitude about Elfman leaving, I was quitely very worried. Although Young did a good job with the stuff he did in 2, the score was still mostly Elfmans. It will be nice to have a collaboration. I hope they can work together though.

the music in the trailers was "with great power" by "immediate music", i loved that song and felt that the brooding, dark sense of it had an epic feel, i hope it is used/incorporated into the movie as well

I doubt it, if you look at Grant's response he said they haven't started on the score for the movie yet.

Well, anyway, I'M HAPPY that Elfman is returning! That is AWESOME! That means that Elfman and Raimi settled their differences. I knew they would! They've been friends for 16 years! A friendship that long doesn't end overnight. Elfman also had a feud with Burton back in `94 and they settled their differences. It's all cool!

OH and you know what this means?!?! Spider-Man 3 will be the FIRST time Elfman returns to a franchise for a 3rd time. He usually composes two films and leaves. So, this is GREAT!

1. Elfman wouldn't return if it wasn't.
2. Elfman wouldn't return if he was gonna be doing the same thing as before ala Spider-Man 2

So, I think this film will feature classic collaboration between Raimi and Elfman.

This is AWESOME news! Elfman is my favorite composer, so it's great to see him return to the franchise. And, it's also nice to see that Raimi and him are friends again. I think thats the most important part. Regardless of whether you like or hate Elfman's music you have admit that its great to see these two continue their friendship. It's been 16 years!

I knew this man couldn't stay away from his biggest scored movie of his career, he probably watched the trailers and was foaming at the mouth to get in. All that talking sh:t about how he despised Sam Raimi, and now here is crawling back with his tail between his legs, like a chump, as I knew he would. I expect the same thing to happen to Tobey and Kirsten come SM4.

Great, now we can expect Sandman, GG2 and Venom to have lots of circus type clown music. I won't sleep well tonight.

Don't forget Batman. That was a big movie too. And, I don't see him returning anytime soon. If he's returning it's because Raimi and him kissed and made up.

Sam and him have been friends for 16 years. Friendships that long don't end overnight. Also, why assume he's the one returning? Maybe Raimi asked him to come back. Chris Young has been involved for a while. Perhaps Raimi wasn't satisfied with his ideas and asked Elfman to return.

This is outstanding news. Personally, I'm dreading the day more when there are new musical themes for future S-M installments, rather than a new director and cast, but that's just me. Elfman's scores are dynamite
