Elfman is Working on the Music

Thank God it looks like Danny and Sam buried the hatchet, his music was an intrinsical part of the feel of the series - now this is where Visionary tries to bite my head off...

He is my fave composer!

I mean, he's the Superhero god! Batman, Spidey...even Simpsons.

...YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:whatever:

:woot:

This is really great news that Danny Elfman is working with Chris Young on Spider-man 3. Elfman is a genius.

Try the generic choir of singing angels and a flute, Elfboy's specialty. Venom's theme is gonna be weaker than strained tea bag...if they let Elfman write it. :o

Eventhough Elfman digs his flutes and angelic choirs, he's still a badass.

im very happy elfmans back, his music is so nice and touching, elfman is a god at music!.

I'm glad that Elfman is coming back, this is some great news to start off my day.

I wonder what Sandman's theme would sound like, something with brushes going over cymbals to give it that sandy sound? Ock's had a bunch of blaring horns that matched his stomping tentacles I think. What about a Venom theme? Maybe an Eddie Brock theme makes more sense, but that becomes twisted a little once he becomes Venom. I'm glad Eflman is at least part of the music now, and I wonder too if they will tweak the opening theme like they did for Spidey 2; it was a little different sounding than Spidey 1 even though it was the same theme.

I hope it's tweaked alot, and given a very dark tone and also... louder. Would be awesome! :wow:

As peolple have said this is fantastic news, Danny is a brilliant composer and although im sure Christopher young would have done a great job on his own. Elfmans main spiderman theme would not have sounded the same, it sounds so epic and peaks so well in scenes of spidey 1 and 2, like when Spidey kicks the crap out of the Green Goblin or when in the train sequence Spidey catches up with train. And the rest of the music isn't too shabby either

i cant wait to hear spideys main theme at the opening crddits, elfman rules!.

Yep, I think that's what Young's supposed to be doing, tweaking Elman's original themes to make them darker while Elfman comes up with some new ones.

What did he say?
raimi wanted the same music. ellfman wanted new music. raimi said no. elfman said that then he is done here. thats a quick version. this is what i heard from different people.

Yeah, he looks like an IDIOT to me too, I can't wait for an interview with him telling us how he and Raimi kissed and made up, never mentioning how Sony bought him back like a cheap crack ****e.

I'm pretty delighted but also very surprised by this news.Elfman and Raimi had well publicized falling out on the second film and i didn't think there was chance in hell they'd work together again.I'm glad they somehow found a way to put their creative differences aside for the sake of Spider-Man.:spidey:

Agreed.

im really happy elfman and sam became friends again, nobody can replace elfman.

if it is true than he is an idiot. and if this is true than he is making this for money and i dont expect hes heart to be in the music.

elman rock soo good from pee wee to simson also spider-man 1 iam glad i almost have all his scores iam learning to play the batman theme on the trumpet!

The thing is, does Elfman use a lot of female choirs, flutes, sixties bongo-like drums in his movies? Yes, and it´s part of his style. Will anyone kill Hans Zimmer cuz he loves big, loud drums and celtic music? I can accuse John Williams of using the same basic style of big pompous fanfare for both SW, Supes, and Indiana Jones - which he does, and I love it.

I'm hoping it's not true...but my gut feeling is telling me that it is...I'm never truly happy.:(

Awesome! Now if we could only get Alex Ross back to do the opening artwork like in Spidey 2
