Episode 05 - "Hiros" - Discussion Thread

I'm so stupid. I just re-watched all the episodes, and found out that the opening narrations on all of 'em is made by future Hiro.

Great episode! This series is fast becoming my favorite :yay:

With Claire, I think the reason that the doctors didn´t react to her being ok is because they, like all of us, simply except the reality with which we are presented. It´s a lot simpler to belive that she was simply very lucky and escaped from the car crash un hurt then it is to think she somehow regened.

Man, when Nathan flew I was nearly green with envy. Flying is so the power I would most want to have, it may not be the most useful but it sure seems like the most fun one to have.

Seriously? Very cool. I wonder if it's future Hiro from the same time-frame as Hiro who talked to Peter on the train.

I must say this show has potential. On the other hand. There seems to be plot holes almost every episode. Plus they don't go into detail about each persons powers. For instance.

Nathan, can fly right? Is he still vulnerable? Like if Superman flies into a building he is cool, because the sun has his back. What about Nathan? Going that fast if he hits a building or a rock. Heck if pebble comes out of nowhere. It could cave in his skull.

I am slowly feeling that this is show is going slower than it needs to. Leaving cliffhangers unnecassarily. For me Lost go slow because I don't really know anything about that world. Where as anyone that has grown up with super Heroes pretty much knows where this show is heading.

I really hope that they pick up the pace a little bit. Not much, but just a little bit.

you're stupid. it's going alot faster than alot of other tv shows, so chill out and enjoy it. and these are just normal people, they themselves probably don't know the extent of their powers. they don't have star labs to analyze every little facet. you think nathan is going to go to a scientist and ask,"hey can you tell me why my skin doesn't rip off when i fly at superspeeds? you think it could be some super inpenetrable forcefield generated as a side effect?" or do you want some yellow box to appear on screen and explain every little detail? grow up.

Sounded like Future Hero to me. Hominder's accent is TOO accentuated, at least on the first episode.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Heroes uses all the conventions of comic book super-herodom plus the kitchen sink, but it also manages to throw us a curveball on every episode.

future hiro didn't have an accent.

I'm lame with accents.

I think you've been smoking too much weed, dude. It wouldn't make sense for Hiro to talk about evolution and destiny, that's always been Mohinder's thing since the beginning of the show. Oh, and also it sounds nothing like Hiro and it sounds exactly like Mohinder. How much you wanna bet? I think you need to rewatch all the episodes again, then get back to us.

well, although he missed several points on his posts, but the narration by Hiro seems like something logical

maybe the last one standing is the one telling the story

Hmm...you're probably right.

I guess I always just saw him as more of a power-blocker than a mental-blocker...but I suppose mental-blocker works more hand-in-hand with his memory-wiping power.

Also, if he is a power blocker, people can sometimes get around it. When they had Matt, Mr. Bennet said he couldn't read his mind because of his "friend", but then Matt asked who Claire was and Bennet realized that his power was further along than they thought. Its possible Nathan was further along than they anticipated as well.

And the sonic boom was awesome. I totally didn't expect that, especially after see the preview all week. That was a great way of keeping us from being desensitized by the commercial.

I dont think we will see much of Brody - he is no longer Brody, he is an empty shell. I am wondering what happened to Matt though, he is perfectly normal now...how does that happen?
He's not normal - he had that freakout.

Although I really like his character, throughout the entire episode I kept thinking, "Uh, Mel Gibson called. He wants the plot points from What Women Want back."

Um, no.

it is mohinder. whoever said it was future hiro is just getting way too excited about a character that may or may not exist in the future if the heroes stop the bomb. he was on screen for 2 minutes. he said nothing cool. and mohinder's not middle eastern, he's indian. that's south asian. plus he's speaking in a british-like accent that someone from india would most likely have. people of indian descent get hella offended when someone makes that makes mistake.

For future record calling a person stupid right off the bat. Can result in a person not listen to what you have to say.:whatever:

I am enjoying it for now, but in about 2 seasons I could see you being one those people (like some lost fans) who are bi**hing because it going to slow. People need to chill out. This is only the 5th show, & people are acting like it is end all be all. Some of you are going to look foolish if this shows plot holes keep getting bigger, & bigger.[/quote]

No I don't want a little yellow box to appear on screen.:whatever:
Look the simple fact is that there are plot problems that if not resolved could be a problem later. Key word LATER! I really hope they clear these up.

it's common sense nathan isn't invulnerable. didn't you see him scratch up his feet a little bit when he landed?

i can't believe anyone is complaining about the show going too slow! I wish they'd slow it down more. In my opinion, that things that have happened so far should've taken 10 episodes.

um, I can't believe anyone thinks that's hiro. get your ears checked buddy. even on the very first episode before I knew who any of the characters were, I knew the narrator had a middle eastern accent.
