Episode 05 - "Hiros" - Discussion Thread

it's common sense nathan isn't invulnerable. didn't you see him scratch up his feet a little bit when he landed?

i can't believe anyone is complaining about the show going too slow! I wish they'd slow it down more. In my opinion, that things that have happened so far should've taken 10 episodes.

yeah but it's refreshing that they've manage to pack so much goodness into these episodes already. makes you wonder how they're going to keep up this pace.

Yeah...Mohinder is the narrator. All the talk about evolution and such should be a dead giveaway. That and the fact that it sounds like him.

I think Bennet is trying to find out about Sylar.

This show just gets better and better....incredible. :) Great humor, great drama, action and story.

Claire's dad was in top form....really showing off his sinister side. And of course Hiro...my favorite character proving he can do comedy AND drama when called for it. :) Amazing show.

I have a hunch that Nathan is like Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, in that while he's flying he's near indestructible and invulnerable.

I don't know if this has been touched on in the thread yet. If it has just move on.

Anyone think Hiro came back from a future where they failed their mission to stop the bomb?

That would seem likea good theory. It could also be that they failed to save Claire, therefor her dying Sylar being unbeatable.

:cmad:

Part Six on NBC simply will not play! Its soooo good, I have to see the end.

The episodes are broken up into 6 parts. I've seen 1-5 of episode 5, but part 6 won't work.

What do you mean part 6?

When NBC puts Heroes episodes online, they split them up into parts. Instead of putting up the whole episode at once like ABC does with LOST.

Yeah,

Why would he come back to warn Peter if they had orginally suceeded?

See I think Future-Peter was also visited by a "Future" Future Hiro warning him and what not, and so Future Peter sent Future Hiro to go warn present-Peter. If the Cheerleader is the key to saving the world, and they didn't save her the first time, how would Peter and Hiro still be around?

Easy - Future Hiro would stop time seconds before the blast to whip back to Present Peter with an "oh CRAP we messed up!" message.

As for the person wishing the episodes would go even slower, a POX on you! A POX I SAY!

The bomb was just the beginning. I think it starts with the death of the Cheerleader....then the bomb...and then other bad stuff happens after that. Because it's obvious that future Hiro is not from the NEAR future...like directly after the bomb...he's been around long enough to mature, fight plenty of battles judging from his appearance and probably seen a lot of people and heroes he knows dies. (I believe at the hands of Sylar)

I think Sylar is responsible for the bomb...but first he needs to take the cheerleaders powers and so even if he is still in the city (and not too close to teh bomb) he can regenerate while all those around him are dead or dying. It probably took Hiro a long time to gain more control over his powers.

Save the Cheerleader...prevent all the future steps from happening.

the world doesn't necessarily blow up. the heroes could still be alive but alot was lost.

So basically the cheerleader has to die. Because if she doesn't then the Heroes have no reason to fight.

nathan's characterization is all over the place. one minute he's an ass, the next he's really nice and outgoing. wtf? he's a cool character and i like the actor that plays him, but he's kind of lopsided.

That's what makes his character great. His dealing with so much at this time. He's eventually going to hit a crossroads in the eps to come.

I think we need a few more tidbits before we can start speculating about Sylar's invovlement with the nuke. I'm curious about how D.L. will play into the show. Will he become a hero or villian? His Kitty Pride-like powers would allow him to be effecient at both. I just can't wait until next week.

D.L. will be a hero - you can tell from his Graphic Novel on NBC.com that the guy is good. Infact out of all the people we have seen, he may be one of the true white gloves behind Hiro and Peter.

How'd Hiro learn to speak english between episodes?

He was able to make is way around NY using some simple english, he is still far from speaking it fluently, and even farther away from being Ninja Badass. :ninja:
