Justice League Ezra Miller Is The Flash - Part 2

I liked the character. But Ezra wasn’t really playing Barry Allen was he? It was like a completely different character. That’s bugs me despite the fact the character he did give us, is very likeable.

Some great humour even if some of it didn’t land.

My thoughts exactly

Feels more like Wally than Barry. But I still liked it.

I actually liked every joke that I can think of, except for the Batsignal joke.

Wally is one of my favourite characters in JLanimated, so I ain't complaining :P

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"

Its weird how Ezra and Grant are playing the same character but with completely different takes. My one complaint with ezra is the way he runs. His arms were Flailing around too much

In Grace's review, she said he runs really weird. Is there any truth to this, or is it just Grace being... Grace?

I thought it was fine for most of the movie, except for one scene at the end where it looks super weird.

I feel like his humor was forced and it started to become cringe-worthy.
He had his endearing moments, but it was all so hit and miss.

I need them to stop looking at Barry as trying to make him be the comedic
relief and just let everything flow naturally. It just felt really forced, and that's
no fault of Ezra. I really enjoy his Flash and hope to see more of him, just not as
the character who's there to provide the constant comedic relief.

That said, some of his scenes were my favorite.

WHY DID HE RUN LIKE A CRIPPLE??? It was ridiculous! LOL

Ezra's Barry is a big fan of anime. According to Lone, this is a very anime-styled run.

Ezra was essentially doing JLU Flash wich is the thing people were asking for (who himself was an inconsistent melding of Barry and Wally) so... NOW it's an issue getting exactly that?

The issue should be the material that was left on the cutting room floor which would have enhanced the performance and character, though even then I rather liked Miller and almost everything about the character. Still it's obvious a more emotionally deep arc for him was cut out.

The one's who wanted JLU Flash are probably not the one's complaining about it.

Can someone quote to me a line for the flash they found funny? I think he was terribly scripted.

Not one laugh from the audience from him in my screening and from the comic relief character that's poor. Aquaman and batman got far more.

He seemed more competent in his cameo in Suicide Squad than this whole movie

I don't see JLU Flash at all. Both being comedic relief is about where the comparison starts and ends.

Well, I thought he'd annoy me with being mostly a comic relief, but much to my surprise he didn't.

I mean, many of his jokey moments fell flat to me, but I wasn't annoyed by the character at all.

Reminded me of the Barry in Young Justice a bit, but younger - more kid-flash like.

anyway, I loved it.

8.5/10 - well done!

All he had to do was push Boomerang and run away. It was very different then dealing with numerous beings more then capable of killing him.

When it comes to Barry Allen as a character. He's a stoic like Superman and Aquaman. That's fine for his comic but then when you put him in a room for a bunch of stoic characters. It's basically a color swap on the costume.

Personally i like this depiction. This is a man with social issues. He's still a hero. Not everyone is Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent. I get it, not muh Barry.

I still like him.

I really like Ezra’s Flash.
Love him honestly

But

I was expecting a lot more cool scenes with him using his speed.
Fox’s quicksilver still has the best speedster scenes and that....is disappointing.

I like it more when he was a fan of Rick & Morty

Wally as comedic relief was the beginning and end of his characterization on JL/JLU pretty much until FLASH AND SUBSTANCE. There was a "fan" mentality to Miller added here but I felt they were taking the JLU angle with him. Again... biggest issue was there was obviously a lot more to his character that was filmed and written that was left out. You can see it in the scenes with his father and some theme about his life and what he's doing with it etc. But the gun shy suits mandated that runtime and I think after The Snyder's left this thing there was no one willing to fight for a longer cut. So goodbye depth. That said I really liked him in the role and he made me laugh. But they cut the legs out from under this film and the characters. I still liked it but far from love it because it's frustrating seeing the outline of something really good in what we got, which includes Flash.

But hey... We got those "light" tones everyone yelled about for years, so I guess those fans "won", right?
