Guardians 2 was dull and quite possibly the most aimless movie I've seen in a long time. Can't believe how let down I was by it.

Looks like i'm going to enjoy this film, thanks for the glowing recommendation.

Really? I don't even try on jeans in the UK as I know they're gonna fit from the waist measurement.

It's so stupid homie, most jeans/shorts fit me with a 33 but some I can go as low as 30 and others the 34 is too tight. I'm pretty short though (5'3") so I have to take all my jeans/pants to get hemmed anyway but I really hate BSing around when I'm shopping. In and out is the preferred way but if I have to try on a bunch of crap then it takes forever.

You ever order from ASOS? So cheap, but good lord their quality control is ridiculous. I ordered the same jeans in the same size, just different colors. The lighter wash pair were baggier, but the fabric was also very rigid. They were loose and stiff at the same damn time.

I have not, what is ASOS? I'm willing to be very forgiving if it's mad cheap :hehe:

5'3''? I didn't know they made DJ rigs that small!

They don't, my homie Skillz that taught me how to spin back in the day is the same height and showed me in a pinch the top of the flight case makes a good booster. :hehe:

It's an online shop. A lot of trendier stuff and streetwear, but the catalogue is massive honestly. I get a ton of my stuff from there now. You can shop their brand, which is pretty cheap, but they also carry name brand and designer wear as well. I copped a $300 blazer for $77 from them.

Yondu was the best thing about the film. The only character with a real honest to goodness arc.

It looks gorgeous, and some of it is flat out hilarious, but a lot of the jokes have that family guy thing, where they just stretch on for too long.
I noticed you called it aimless earlier and now mentioned a bit of a Family Guy quality. So did they somehow reduce the plot to next to nothing this time? I know the first film didn't have much of a plot, but it was enough to allow the characters to shine, to have their arcs, and propel the film forward. I keep hearing this film is about family, but it seems more nebulous then a coherent theme.

Not even Peter?

Peter was kind of tied into Yondu's arc, but I felt it was more supplemental to what they were doing with the blue guy.

What is there to be said about Tango & Cash? Are they important to the story or glorified throwaway characters?

They're both important, but Stallone's screentime was limited. He had a very good dramatic moment early on that I liked quite a bit. It was probably my favourite scene of the movie to be honest.

Yeah, I thought so. That makes me a little worried now.

Joblo.com had similar feelings about the film. Yondu had the only arc, unfocused narrative, doesnt evolve the characters, same ol same old, Rockett is stuck in an uninteresting ship for too long, juvenile humor...

I thought maybe the reviewer at Joblo.com was just being harsh, but now that dude and Roose are saying similar things Im having doubts about the film.

Good. They are part of the hype.

I'm almost always on par with the guys over at io9 and they said something similar but said it tied together very well in the 3rd act. They also said, and I agree with, the biggest problem with vol. 2 is that the it has to live up to the first film.
