I wish JR JR would come back to ASM. Man that guy can draw.

Agreed to the tenth power. :spidey: Romita Jr. needs to return to the Amazing Spider-Man...right now.

What's he doing now?

Eternals with Neil Gaiman.

I liked JR JR's work on "Thor". When I think Thor, I think JR JR's Thor. Good times :(

What I would give to read a good Thor book right now.

I would give even more to hear "I SAY THEE NAY!!!" Complete with a good ol' whack from Mjolnir.

I really hope they start a Thor book again :(

"HAVE AT THEE!"
Translation: I'm about to f**k you up.
"I SAY THEE ENOW!"
Translation: Knock it off, before I f**k you up.
"I SAY THEE NAY!"
Translation: That's it; now I have to f**k you up.
"I HAVE THY MEASURE NOW, AND I FIND THEE LACKING!"
Translation: If that's the best you can do, I'm REALLY gonna f**k you up.

Oh I'm sure it is. I'm just saying its crazy that you can translate Thor.

That one has 2 translations:
1-"I don't have time for you right now; duty before booty".
2-"This is man's work. Scoot."

I was saying that his argument itself is childish. Basically his point is "spider-man sucks and anyone who still buys it is an idiot and wrong because they don't agree with me." An unwillingness to realize or accept that other people may disagree with your opinion and they are just as right to have their opinion as you are to have yours is the thought process of a child. That's what I meant. You don't like spider-man and don't buy it as a result. I do like spider-man and continue to buy it as a result. To say I'm wrong and equate my actions with an abused woman is an intellectually vacant argument.

Excuse me but Savemarvel is right on the money. Some of you guys complain about what Marvel has done with the character and yet you still buy the book out of this sad notion that you are too into the character to give it up despite what the company is doing to him. Some of you are even regurgitating Joe's sad excuses of bringing the character back to its core in order to justify your thinking.

Only a abuse victim would have the kind of mentality to still take being treated like crap despite their own well being. Savemarvel got you all peg right and you can't stand that.

Actually, savemarvel is wrong.

Most of the people he was targeting didn't say that. They said they have loyalty to the character, and that they may not AGREE with the unmasking, but they LIKE the way things are going, despite their apprehensions of the unmasking. That's a different bag of tricks than saying, "OMG Spider-Man is dead to me! The unmasking spits on everything that he is and was! They're ruining him! But I'm going to keep buying out of strong loyalty as a Spider-Man fan, but continue to complain until everything gets put back to the way things were!"

I didn't really see anybody here say that, or anything along those lines. Savemarvel just wants to assume that they're like abuse victims so that he hopes some posters feel bad about themselves, so that they feel like he does because Spider-Man isn't going the way he wants.

So, he's wrong...dead wrong. And I guess that makes you wrong as well. :spidey:

I prefer the first one :D

Actually, if you read savemarvels's posts, you would have notice that he's attacking the mentality of the fans who stick with the book despite how the character is treated and the way the company is treating the fans. If you want to try to play victim and try to say that savemarvel is a bad person and he's attacking anyone who does not agree with him, then that's up to you. I on the other hand love that someone is actually saying it as it is and is not afraid of saying it and i notice that a few people here share the same feeling.:spidey:

I have to agree with savemarvel, some of the reasoning behind some of the reasons people continue with the book is pretty disturbing and judging by some of the wording, most of them sound like drones by marvel to get people to stay with the book. Their is a difference between loyalty and blind loyalty and those who cite their reasons for staying with the book as being loyal are being foolish because they would rather be treated as cattle than real fans that have minds of their own with real opinions with what is going on.

As for me, i just made the decision to stop collecting Spider-Man with "Amazing Spider-Man*534. That issue for me proved that the people in Marvel had no real plan with the unmasking other than to shock people and that's pretty bad considering that they seem like that they have no clue to deal with the aftermath.

This thread is mainly for fans who are completely horrified by what Quesada, JMS & Co. have been doing to Spidey as a character, yet CONTINUE TO BUY the books.

To me, it's the same thing as people who b!tch about the government but will not vote.

We, as fans, have only one power when it comes to the direction of our favorite characters: and that is MONEY.

Every single dime that you lay out to buy another completely irrelivant, crapped on, piece of garbage Spider-Man title is just one more reason why Quesada and Co. have not been thrown out on their asses by Marvel. It's pathetic.

Just wondering what the reasons can possibly be that you all would continue to support the horrible direction that Spider-man has been going in the last few years? Cause no matter how much you all complain... you ARE supporting it.

So how come? :down

That's basically my opinion on the matter and my reasoning on why I continue to purchase Spider-Man comic books.

because i like what's happening in the spidey books, and i'm interested to see what's to come.

It's kind of like being a Red Sox fan. Yes, sometimes they suck so bad, it pisses you off.
But you're a fan. That means you stick with them, through the bad years and the good years.
Spidey will have more good years.
