Yeah, I also hate it when they blame Nolan for their movie being more ''realistic.''

Nolan had nothing to do with it.

This quote, from the actor HIMSELF:

"I'm a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I'm 'Doom'."

Gets reduced to this:

to fit that argument.

Heard it "from someone." "Part of" what he does involves blogging. :funny:

And all that quote means is that this is something he is and does.

It doesn't mean that is ALL he is and does. Which is lost on people, apparently.

No ****.

The PROBLEM here is...Doom should not blog.

But apparently Domashev does.

I believe -and I think Feige and company feel the same way - that the Surfer is a star attraction. He is the best designed cosmic hero, could carry a solo feature and move a ton of merchandise. I don't put the Shi'ar in the same category.

A few hundred million seems extremely high. From articles released during the formation of Marvel Studios, tie in merchandise from FOX licensed films had very disappointing sales.

And is Marvel going to put both versions of Quicksilver on the shelf? Put both X-Men products and Inhumans products side-by-side? Merchandise rights may be included in any TV deal, but I doubt Marvel would give up anything of value to retain them.

agreed. Some here can't see the bigger picture. The SS more then any charcter that Fox has from Marvel can lead a successful solo movie. I cant think of one character except Wolverine that can carry a successful blockbuster franchise, and I'm giving Wolverine some rope. He cant compare to SS. Yeah Gambit and Deadpool are getting flicks but do anyone believe they are gonna break records? While I think they can have success i just do not see solo gambit film making over 300 mil domestically and taking in 800 or 900 mil WW. I can see a well done and intelligent SS movie doing this. We probably shouldn't be giving fox ideas as they would screw up a SS and Shiar space flick. Yeah I'm a 100% sure that Fox would use the Shi'ar and Badoon and the Brood in a SS film. I'm hoping Marvel can get the SS Rites back. Let Fox do their tv show in exchange for the SS and Galactus and his heralds. Hell let Fox have the tv rites.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the deal revolves around cash more than anything else anyway.

I doubt it. Marvel could have asked for cash compensation in return for the DD extension, but instead asked for Galactus and the Surfer. Feige and company can provide a much higher return by incorporating them into the MCU.

A straight cash transaction would be a blown opportunity to correct at least a portion of the bad deals signed back in the 90s. I don't see Perlmutter letting FOX off that easy.

Not if Fox is willing to make a deal for syndication and Netflix. That will be continuous high revenue stream for Marvel/Disney for years to come. All for giving a "yes" for a show that has characters they can't even make movies with.

Fox doesn't care about FF. They just simply don't. If they did, they wouldn't have waited until the 11th hour to get it made, made it on the cheap (or at least tried), nor have been radio silent the project; not even officially announcing the cast until the end of last year.

And most importantly, provided the rumors are true, they wouldn't have been trying to sell the F4 rights back a just over a month before filming began.

The sole purpose of this film being made was to keep the rights from reverting, until a time they can sweeten the deal for giving them back. Whether its a success or not is neither here or there for Fox, because they can't cross it over with the X-Men franchise and, due to Trank's vision, it doesn't look like building a franchise off this film is in the cards, despite the fact the already scheduled a sequel; which means nothing in this day in age, considering THREE sequels to ASM2 were scheduled and official announced, and they'll likely never see the light of day.

This film is serving its purpose for Fox. And that is simly to hold to the rights. Nothing more, nothing less.

I totally found the trailer good enough to make me want to see the movie and Its gonna be released anyway so why not just give it a chance people .
Its not like marvel never screwed over movies like thor1/2 and ironman 2/3 still made enough money .
Just my opinion though so no need to fart on this :)

1. It also raises Marvel's brand recognition. The characters may be leased by Fox but they're owned by Marvel.
2. Warner allows Fox to air Gotham and CBS to air Supergirl - CW competitors. They don't seem to care since they still get a small cut of the profits.
3. Aside from Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD, those are either digital only shows rather than network programming and can be viewed at any point in time. Most superhero shows are DC-related. Allowing the deal to go through means that Marvel gets more brand recognition than DC.

And I'd also try to get the distribution rights to Daredevil and Elektra back since even though they were terrible movies, Fox can't legally make sequels and it's just more money in Marvel's pocket. Getting Star Wars back helps Disney as a whole but Marvel as a division doesn't have much to gain.

And has anyone here but me read Galactic Storm and War of Kings? I get the feeling that I'm the only one. It's just a hunch.

Read WoK and loved it, hope Marvl can make a movie adaptation, but obviously the Shi'ar are a big miss. What Galactic Storm though? Once The Annihilators finished I lost track of cosmic Marvel.

He is DOOM!! blogging should be beneath him

I'm serious, though. Doom is master of pretty much anything in his mind. He's gone on TV, radio etc and communicated in all sorts of methods in the comics, why is blogging "beneath him"?

Especially pre-Dr. Doom status.

Also, this thread got really off topic.

Yeah it's such a shame the moderators aren't doing anything about it!

Notice how they can't outright dismiss the ridiculously stupid idea outright as second hand rumor from unconfirmed source as they usually would, since it has come directly from the actor himself in no mixed words. So they now have to defend the ridiculously stupid idea as if it wasn't a ridiculously stupid idea. Really reaching and stretching and bending over backwards to make it seem like a good idea.

I doubt Marvel cares if DC green lights another 50 shows. It's competition, but its a completely different scenario when a competitor hurts you with your own characters. And a successful X Men TV show lessens the chances of character reversion.

FOX is having success with Gotham, but they don't own the show. WB does and will own all future collaborations with the network. If FOX and Marvel settle on a price - and it will be high - FOX will own the show. That's an enormous difference.

Exactly. Full rights to an X-TV show would be a HUGE boon for Fox, and they know it.

Marvel needs to keep a strong hand here.

Blogging itself doesn't really seem like inherently a good or bad idea and certainly doesn't seem "ridiculously stupid". It's just a tool people use to communicate with a lot of people these days.

It'd be like me complaining about the idea of Dr. Doom writing a letter to someone. Or is that ancient method of communication also "beneath" Doom?

For probably the eightieth time...yes, if Dr. Doom blogs and does NOTHING ELSE, that's stupid. But if it's just one tool of several he utilizes...especially pre-Dr. Doom, I don't really see the issue.

This.

It's getting tiring arguing with others grasping at straws, and resorting to jokes when cornered.

Unlike Victor Von Doom, Victor Domashev is hip and relevant.

Showing up to the negative zo--I'm sorry, N-Zone(saying the full name of things is SO 2000 and late) with a fashionable scarf and a latte from a local, family owned coffee house.

Meh. It would be tiring if it took any effort.

Yes we are all in awe of your gigantic, throbbing comic book forum posting skills.

It's good that a really powerful dictator can work time time into his schedule to update people on his thoughts and feelings for the day. I hope he can find time to also do Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

I don't think he's a powerful dictator quite yet.

Yeah it's such a shame the moderators aren't doing anything about it!

It's a shame that some moderators have a life that is outside of the forums so they can't be in this one forum 24 hours a day 7 days a week holding the hands of posters that act like children instead of adults. But never fear...daddy is here....

There ya go...94 off topic and stupid posts deleted.

Keep this thread on topic.
