Di d th ey only make claims exclusive to YouTube? or did they say the "Trailer" was viewed 42milllion times?

Well... to be quite frank youtube is the clear monopoly for trailer viewing... since most sites aNd facebook link directly to it. The percentage of other video hosting would in no way, shape or form make up for the missing numbers

Except people have done that math that shows their are fudged numbers. Dont you think something that popularly watched would have been trending more than a day? Dofp certainly did. Hell jurassic world still is. Fant4stic is just a speck of dust in the wind. People have already moved on from it

It's certainly interesting how the numbers don't seem to add up. I don't have a theory one way or the other but it wouldn't shock me if the numbers were fudged.

My point was we don't know how "global views" are tallied. It's just best to accept it and move on.

In all likely hood the numbers aren't fudged. AOU got 34million "global views" and the official talley on Youtube is 30mill. They must be tracking the views from everywhere it's embedded and shared.

Not sure why you're so opposed to this being questioned. It's an interesting point of contention, a further discussion could possibly bring about answers. Because as of now the 14 million views on youtube is a far cry from what they are claiming.

Explain the Ant-Man trailer views for comparison. Maybe that's the answer.

Well unless japan is like going nuts over this... i wouldn't believe it. There's no evidence to support FOX's claim

This is a discussion board where we discuss news about upcoming comic book projects, in this thread specifically the movie Fant4stic.. We got news about the movie: the trailer may or may not have 40+ mill views. Now we discuss that. That's the reason why we are here. If we just accept everything and move on, then why would we be here?

The only thing i could see and would find interesting, would be if we are only seeing our regions views (country, etc) anyone in Australia? , japan? England? Seeing the same numbers? (Just curious)

I just checked. Same numbers for me

You wouldn't have evidence cause there is no way you can track down every where in the world wide web that it's been viewed. That is why you accept the numbers and move on. The youtube talley for Ant-man 8million and Marvel says it's been viewed over 29million times.

Interesting. Well it is worth noting that the video linked in that article was hosted on Marvel.com, which is probably where a good chunk of the views came from apart from Youtube. Maybe Fox has another imbedded video of sorts that was used to share the link, and that's where the discrepancy is coming from.

They do and not just that, but I'm sure Fox and other studios are tracking the views when it's embedded on another site.

everytime you write 'just accept it and move on' somwhere a scientist is dying

We accept things other tell us all the time without even blinking an eye. Like "Don't smoke or you'll get cancer". Or every census report, crime report or real estate report.

I think marvel is fudging as well (like i said) no way is ant-man higher than gotg. Not when that trailer has been out far longer. But thats not letting fant4sticrap to get a free card either

Yeah that's apples and oranges at best.. this is a discussion based forum centered around superhero movies, you tried to curtail a perfectly valid conversation.

Wait so they're saying that the F4 trailer has been viewed more than the DOFP one in number of total views?
Yeah I don't think I buy that.

Does fox even have a movie site up with anything viral? Hell dofp did a great job of that

Neither studio is claiming they sold 29 or 42 million tickets.

Telling people days ahead of time you can expect the trailer on X date gives you more views one would think. That's why it's called promotional material.

If you just release a trailer and no one notices then it takes longer to spread the word one would think.
