What's with the obsession of picking apart everything anyone involved in this production says?

Who cares? A lot of people saw the trailer is basically the message they're trying to convey. Maybe its one of their more popular trailers, in terms of views. Does it really matter?

Nevermind that I somehow doubt any of you have access to the actual data required to prove this assertion true OR false.

Neither studio is claiming they sold 29 or 42 million tickets.

Telling people days ahead of time you can expect the trailer on X date gives you more views one would think. That's why it's called promotional material.

If you just release a trailer and no one notices then it takes longer to spread the word one would think.

But rhey did give a date... and not that many seem to be caring... or it would have been top trending more than a day. People saw it, and moved on

Okay. So Twitter didn't trend FF for more than one day.

So the trailer views don't matter.

MI5 is going to trounce it's opening weekend.

You guys have a lot of evidence to back up that this movie has very little hype or desire, but you aren't acting that confident in the final outcome.

Kickback, stick your feet up on the desk and bask in the stupidity of people talking about this failure of a FF adaptation.

Twitter or facebook... yet jurassic world, age of ultron, dofp, star wars, all did more than a day... hell even tmnt did...

Trending is more important than views... trending means people are talking about it...

I ain't going to lie, I'm going to have blind hate for this film. I simply do not want it to succeed or even exist.

Not gonna happen, looks like the film is going to be at least pretty good. That sequel in 2017 is looking like Fox knew they may have found a gem.

So TomorrowLand will fail cause it didn't trend for a day after it's Superbowl ad?

I think promotion is about building anticipation. The trailer didn't/hasn't made(some people were against it already before the trailer) a negative view of the movie way Jupiter Ascending has, imo.

It was just a basic teaser/voiceover trailer.

Haha thats so laughable. I cant even think of a better comeback..

a date picked for a sequel.. does not guarantee a sequel. And if this film was a "gem" it wouldnt need the big reshoots.

look im fine if you are excited to see this film that's your prerogative. But lets not act as if this is a sure bet and a triumph over cinema and the comic book genre. You're making yourself look ridiculous

I honestly dont know what tomorrowland will do to be quite frank. Right now its not done squat to peak my interest. Views, trending or thearer tickets do not determine the quality of a film. There's many god awful films that do well in theaters (transformers 4 and teenage mutant ninja turtles) and some really amazing films that dont make squat.

Contrary to the handful of you who refuse to grasp it, this film does not have a good buzz... and unless it picks up steam and great word of mouth... the buzz wont get any better. Bad buzz equal less tickets in seats... which means, regardless of if the film is good or not... im a step closer to my wish of fox giving up on the rights, and the F4 coming home where they belong. So i can't be happier at the moment

I really don't understand why investing any energy into a movie you are not going to see.

I have no interest in seeing Ant-Man, and I am not that board constantly stating such and how much its going to suck. I don't think its going to be good, so I'm not seeing it. That's that.

It feels like this has become more of a Fox vs. Marvel competition more so than anything else.

Because you're not passionate about ant-man.

Im passionate about the fantastic four... and this is not them. I want it to burn. This film is a travesty to fantastic four fans. Ive seen very very little passionate F4 fans thrilled about this film. And its quite ok for them to rage about it

You have no idea what the reshoots are about. Age of Ultron is/was having reshoots. Does that lead me to believe something is wrong with that film? Nope, it's business as usual till something official is revealed to the reason. The rest of what you posted is hyperbole, there was no hint of triumph over cinema and the genre in anything I posted.

Um.. you said "gem" that means valuable, wanted, desired....

Anywho...

No the reports are not casting the f4 reshoots in a positive light. While The avengers reboot suggests bonus scenes and stingers and easter eggs

and I'm sure it's from legitimate sources not the websites that post sensational headlines for click bait

So will their rage make it a travesty and make the film burn? If not then they are wasting their time with their blind hate and entering troll territory. Isn't there a fantasy MCU F4 thread on the hype.

Like praising it will help it?

Studios only do that as a faux show of confidence, to convince audiences the movie is going to be great (usually better than it actually is), and dredge up cheap hype.

And sometimes, its legit confidence. Like Sony, who greenlit Sinister Six, Venom, AND The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Can't wait to see those........ oh wait. :o

20th Century Fox hit a gold mine with Fantastic Four! If the film turns out to be great, this could be their next X-Men or Planet of the Apes! :woot:

It seems everyone has a source regarding this movie! Not for any other movie coming this summer! Hook me up with these contacts who have worked on this movie.

There are lots of conflicting reports. I get the feeling that this is a classic case of a director having a specific vision which some execs at the studio after seeing the rought cut find it too dark and sombre. They are probably scared that it isn't going to be accessible to a wider audience and hence demanded reshoots. Unfortunately, that will make the movie feel disjointed and rushed if last minute reshoots are inserted. My suggestion to fox, let Josh trank do it the way he wants.

What I kinda found funny in the collider interview was that Josh admitted that he did 1.5 week reshoots on chronicle which was shot in around 35 days. And then says FF was shot in around 72 days so...i guess keeping in mind the chronicle reshoots, 3 weeks of reshoots on FF shouldn't really come as a surprise..i.e. If they are still reshooting or already done. Josh probably doesn't find it all that alarming lol

Btw Chris stuckmann has as a source that said opposite...

well since I live, work and study in BR, this is merely happenstance.

This sums up a lot. [YT]BFnTn6V99eU[/YT]

That man speaks the truth. The sheer level of rage towards the production is backfiring. If people weren't getting up in arms, I doubt there would be that many trailer hits and I doubt that the general audience wouldn't be as interested as they are.

What I was expecting was something where Doom is characterized as Wayne Knight's character from Jurassic Park who's really more of an enemy you'd see on a sitcom than Doctor Doom, the Negative Zone would be nothing more than our world run through a purple filter and the special effects would have a sort of 90s direct to video level of GCI with a Thing who never moves and stays static.

That was the movie that we were rumored to get.

And if this film was lighter in tone, hardcore fanboys would be saying, "they learned nothing from how bad the Tim Story movies were. They're doing the same exact thing we saw before!" The difference is that the general audience would feel the same way considering that everyone hated those films and they're excited for the new tone. So to everyone hating this film with venomous rage, you're ensuring that it's going to succeed. If the movie is absolutely terrible, people will want to see how bad it is. The fact is, it doesn't look all that bad so it'll actually remain profitable.

I watched Bio-Dome once because it's regarded as the worst big budget studio film ever made. (It is. It's unwatchable.) If it were not for the bad publicity, then I never would have checked it out.

Look at the films where the rights reverted to Marvel. I remember when Punisher War Zone and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance came out. More accurately, I remember not even bothering to Google them since by that point, the market was saturated with CBMs and I only wanted to bother with the good ones. Literally nobody was talking about them. Hatred means that there's an audience. It means, "even if you mess this one up, there's potential for a sequel." Apathy is what kills projects.

When Disney bought Marvel, the reaction from fans was to pile as much hate on Fox for daring to reboot Daredevil and Fantastic Four. Except before we even knew a single detail about either, far more people were hating Fox for rebooting FF and there was nothing but apathy for Daredevil. That's why Fox decided to let go of Daredevil instead of Silver Surfer. They realized that by that point, the potential audience didn't care about Daredevil but they did about the FF.

Like the best thing you can do if you want this to fail is to stop talking about it. I was angry in the aftermath of TASM2 then stopped sicne I no longer care about the Spider-Man movies. I started talking about Spider-man when it looked like Sony was willing to sell him back. I stopped talking about Spider-Man again since I'm simply not interested in anything that Sony has to do with the property anymore and probably won't unless the reviews for the new film are incredible or Sony sells the rights back to Marvel.
